***What Does 2 Corinthians 4:3,4 TRULY mean?
Here is 2 Corinthians 4:3,4 from the KJV. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2 Corinthians 4:4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
As I have said many times, I PREFER the King James Version, but I am definitely not a KJV ONLY Christian.
And it is verses like this that HIDE the God intended meaning.
In other words, when you read verse 4 from other translations, you can clearly see that the message of the GOSPEL is the GLORY that the God of Jesus GAVE to His HUMAN Son after the cross and resurrection.
So, while that is a GLORIOUS gospel, the way the KJV is “translated”, the MESSAGE of the GLORY that God gave to Jesus after the cross and resurrection is HIDDEN.

Jesus commissioned his body, the church, to go and make disciples.
We as Christians are called to preach the GOSPEL!
But some Christians are wrongly preaching church TRADITION!
The exact phrase “our gospel” is found three times in the King James Version.
The pronoun “our” is referring to the gospel that the Apostles of Jesus teach.
And the Apostle Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1:6-12, about those coming into the church even in the first century, who were and still are preaching ANOTHER gospel that is not the gospel that Paul preached.
I point this out because two of those verses that have the phrase “our gospel” clearly teach us that the Apostles’ message of the gospel is about the GLORY that God gave to the Son of MAN, Jesus, after the cross and resurrection.
Every Christian knows that we all have come short of the glory of God, but I am not so sure that they truly UNDERSTAND what that verse is actually saying.
Romans 3:23.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the GLORY of God;”
Yes, the glory of God does indeed mean the HONOR from God being bestowed upon us, but it means more than that.
Let me explain what I mean. In Hebrews 5:5, we learn that God GLORIFIED the Son of MAN, Jesus, to be MADE the high priest of God after the order of Melchizedek.
Let us go ahead and read that passage of Scripture to include the CONTEXT in verse 1 of Hebrews chapter 6.
Hebrews 5:5-14 and Hebrews 6:1.
“So also Christ glorified not himself to be MADE a high priest; but He that said unto him, You are my Son, TODAY have I begotten you. (And according to Acts 13:33,34, the Son of MAN, Jesus, was BEGOTTEN by God to be regenerated from being mortal to BECOME the ETERNAL Son of God on the very day that his God raised him from the dead and GAVE him eternal life to be having in himself even as the Father has life in Himself, according to John 5:26,27.
So, another part of being GLORIFIED is being GIVEN a new glorified IMMORTAL body never to die again.
In other words, according to Revelation 5:12, The Lamb of God was FOUND WORTHY to RECEIVE glory, honor and POWER after he was SLAIN and resurrected from the dead)
Hebrews 5:6. As He said also in another place, You are a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 5:7. Who in the days of his FLESH, (Before he was glorified to be MADE Lord, according to Acts 2:36) when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Hebrews 5:8. Though he was a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hebrews 5:9. And being MADE PERFECT, he BECAME the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews 5:10. Called by God a high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Warning Against Apostasy
Hebrews 5:11. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing.
Hebrews 5:12. For when the time that you ought to be teachers, you have the need that one teaches you again, which are the first principles of the oracles of God; and you are become as such as have the need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Hebrews 5:13. For every one that uses milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Hebrews 5:14. But strong meat belongs to those that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 6:1. THEREFORE, leaving the principles of the DOCTRINE of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,”
The writer of Hebrews is saying to Christians that one of the FIRST principles of the oracles of God is the DOCTRINE of Christ.
In other words, one of the chief PROPHECIES of God is the DOCTRINE of the ANOINTING of the one prophesied to come.
So, in Hebrews 6:1, the writer of Hebrews is saying, let us move on past the doctrine of the ANOINTING of Jesus, because you should already know that very BASIC teaching.
And in the context of this passage of Scripture is the warning of the coming APOSTASY.
Now, to me, the apostasy began in the second century when MANY antichrists began entering into the church.
We have already covered those antichrist verses in chapter 6 of Book 11 called 2 John 1:9 The DOCTRINE of Christ and the Spirit of Antichrist!
But just briefly, one of the meanings of the word “antichrist” means INSTEAD of Christ or instead of the ANOINTING that came in the flesh of Jesus to give him power to destroy the works of the Devil.
In other words, an antichrist TEACHING began in the second century that REPLACED the teaching of a MAN being the Messiah with the teaching that God Himself BECAME a man who died for the sins of the world.
Here is a quote from another website explaining what the council at Chalcedon in 451 AD was all about.
“The Council of Chalcedon was called in 451 CE by the Roman Emperor Marcian (r. 450-457) to settle debates regarding the nature (hypostases, "reality") of Christ that had begun at two earlier meetings in Ephesus (431 CE and 439 CE).
The question was whether Christ was human or divine, a man who became God (through the resurrection and ascension) or God who became a man (through the incarnation, "taking on flesh"), and how his humanity and divinity affected his essence and being, if at all.”
In other words, ALL Christians at that time in history agreed that Jesus was DEITY or had divine NATURE.
But the question or DEBATE was HOW was Jesus Deity? When was Jesus Deity?
And did the Son of man, Jesus, become deity after the cross and resurrection?
Or did a pre-existing God become a man who remained fully God during the days of his flesh having BOTH natures at the SAME time, one Divine and one human, DURING the days of his FLESH?
With that being said, let us go back to Romans 3:23 and read it again with the MINDSET that a MAN BECAME a God or a DEITY under and subject to his God and Father for the purpose of judging Satan and the fallen angels.
Again, we all know and understand that all of us who have SINNED have come SHORT to that GLORY that Almighty God gave to Jesus.
But some of you may have never been taught that the MAN approved of God was MADE both Lord and Messiah after the cross and resurrection.
In other words, the prophecies in the Old Testament teach us that the one prophesied to come would be MADE a Lord, a King, a Priest, and a God, which is the SAME GLORY that Jesus promised to give to us who believe, according to John 17:22-26.
Romans 3:23.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the GLORY of God;”
The Greek word “theos” that is “translated” as God also means a Deity.
So then, this verse could very well mean that all who have sinned have come short of the GLORY of Deity or being made partakers of the Divine NATURE of immortality, according to 2 Peter 1:4.
Please know and understand that I realize that the definite article is before the Greek word “theos”, which would mean that we have all fallen short of the Almighty God, because we all have sinned.
One of my readers brought it to my attention, so I added some clarity to why I say we have fallen short of deity.
But we also need to consider what BRINGS God “GLORY”.
Let me explain what I mean by this.
Jesus asked the Father to glorify him so that the Father would be glorified.
And the Father said that He is glorified in the Son.
So then, the subject under discussion is GLORY, and more specifically what brings God the glory.
It PLEASED the Father that the fullness of deity should dwell in Jesus.
So, by God glorifying Jesus with deity to rule as God, for God, and in God’s name will ultimately bring God glory on the final Day of Judgment. when He judges the angels, as in, the fallen angel by the LIFE of Jesus and the LIVES of all of the saints who overcome the world.
So then, in that sense, the God intended “glory” for all men is for God to conform us who believe into the image of Jesus, whom God made in the express image of Himself.
And that IMAGE is being made a deity who will rule RIGHTEOUSLY just like Almighty God Himself rules.
And the Son of MAN Jesus was GIVEN the Divine NATURE of immortal LIFE even as the Father has LIFE in Himself, according to John 5:26,27.
Let us now read John 1:18 from the New American Standard Version that translates John 1:18 as the only BEGOTTEN “God”.

But for now, here is a short excerpt from that study.
John 1:18 from the (NAS) New American Standard Version.
“No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”
Now, some King James ONLY Christians will argue that the New American Standard Version is translated from a different manuscript.
And thus, to THEM, the KJV ONLY Christians, if a Bible is not translated from the Textus Receptus, then it is a corrupt translation.
But that argument is simply not true. I mean, does the translation “the only begotten God” AGREE with the WHOLE word of Almighty God?
The answer to the question in my opinion, is YES, I sincerely believe that Almighty God Yahweh has a Son, whom He Himself highly exalted to become [a] God, a King, and a Lord, to sit on His throne at His right-hand side.
And if you have read the previous chapters of Book 11, then you know and understand that Jesus will rule ONLY over the whole earth for ONLY 1000 years during the world to come.
So, yes, to me, the Bible itself ACTUALLY teaches that a MAN BECAME a DEITY after the cross and resurrection for the purpose of JUDGING Satan and the fallen angels.
Let us continue looking at some other verses of Scripture that support the understanding that the HUMAN Son of God became a God under and subject to his God after the cross and resurrection.
Again, one of those verses that has the phrase “our gospel” is 2 Corinthians 4:3, which is part of this Verse Study.
So, let us read the other verse in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 first, and then we will read 2 Corinthians 4:4 from several other translations so that you can see that the MESSAGE of the gospel is the GLORY of Jesus ANOINTED.
For you see, Jesus was anointed TWICE, first at his baptism with a PARTIAL anointing of God’s Spirit, and then God ANOINTED the Son of MAN, Jesus, with the FULLNESS of DEITY after the cross and resurrection.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17.
“But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
2 Thessalonians 2:14. Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the GLORY of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Here we see that we who believe are given the same promise to OBTAIN the SAME GLORY that God GAVE to Jesus after the cross and resurrection.
We are given the promise of being made JOINT-HEIRS with Jesus in Romans 8:17.
And Jesus promised in John 17:22-26 to give us the SAME GLORY that God gave it him)
2 Thessalonians 2:15. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which you have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. (In other words, hold fast to the DOCTRINE of the Apostles’, which they have taught us from the SCRIPTURES.
To say this another way, do not be DECEIVED by man-made TRADITIONS that have wrongly been taught to Christians by the Roman Catholic Church)
2 Thessalonians 2:16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, (For those of you who are reading this study in my Google Docs, then you can see the the words Lord and Christ are highlight is light blue, which is my color code for the GLORIFIED Jesus after the cross and resurrection.
For you see, according to Acts 2:22-42 the MAN APPROVED of God was MADE to become both Lord and Christ after the cross and resurrection)
2 Thessalonians 2:17. Comfort your hearts, and establish yourself in every good word and work.”
In other words, implore, invoke, and beseech yourself to be rooted and grounded in the TRUTH.
Here is 2 Corinthians 4:4 from several different translations so that you can better see that the MESSAGE of the gospel is the good news of the GLORY that the ANOINTED Son of MAN, Jesus, RECEIVED as the joy that Almighty God set before him to endure the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2,3.
“4. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the GLORY of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
“4. The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. As a result, they don’t see the light of the Good News about Christ’s GLORY. It is Christ who is God’s image.”
“4. in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the GLORY of the Messiah, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.”
New International Reader's Version.
“4. The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They can’t see the light of the good news of Christ’s GLORY. He is the likeness of God.”
“4. In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the GLORY of Christ, who is the likeness of God.”
“4. In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the GLORY of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn [upon them].”
“4. The god of this age has blinded the minds of those who don’t have faith so they couldn’t see the light of the gospel that reveals Christ’s GLORY. Christ is the image of God.”
“4. They do not believe, because their minds have been kept in the dark by the evil god of this world. He keeps them from seeing the light shining on them, the light that comes from the Good News about the GLORY of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
So then, with the mindset or the understanding that the God of Jesus GAVE the Son of MAN, Jesus, GLORY and honor to RECEIVE POWER after the cross and resurrection, let us read Romans 1:1-4, which is one of seven verses that has the phrase “gospel of God”.
Again, the Greek word “theos” also means a DEITY.
Thus, Romans 1:1 could be translated as the gospel of a DEITY or the good news of a DEITY, which can be understood as the good message to all who believe shall become gods, lords, and kings, to rule and reign with Jesus over the whole earth during the world to come.
Romans 1:1-4.
“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Or the good news that the Son of MAN, Jesus, was made to become a God to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels)
Romans 1:2. (Which He had promised afore by His prophets in the holy scriptures,)
Romans 1:3. Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Romans 1:4. And DECLARED to be the Son of God with POWER, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:”
In other words, according to Hebrews 2:5-10, the Apostles of Jesus UNDERSTOOD Jesus to be MADE a little lower or inferior to the angels first, and then God CROWNED him with GLORY and honor to RECEIVE POWER after the cross and resurrection.
Now, the phrase “the gospel of Christ” is found 11 times in the KJV, which can be translated as “the gospel of the ANOINTING”, and also as “the gospel of the Messiah”.
And these phrases can be understood as the good message about the ANOINTING that dwelt in the flesh of Jesus, and about the DOCTRINES that Jesus taught his Apostles and disciples recorded for us in the New Testament under the New Covenant.

Romans 1:16.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Again, this verse can be interpreted or understood in a few different ways.
The two obvious ways are number one, the Gospel itself has the power of God within the words of the gospel to save whosoever believes the words of God concerning being saved.
And another obvious way is that the TRUTH of the gospel is DEMONSTRATED by the POWER of God working in those who preach and teach the gospel and also working in those who BELIEVE the gospel to be saved, healed, and delivered.
But another way that Romans 1:16 can be understood that is not as obvious can be seen in the following LITERAL translation.
Here is the LITERAL translation of Romans 1:16.
“Not for I am being ashamed of the well message of ANOINTED ABILITY, for of God it is into saving every the one believing, to the Jew first and to Greeks”
To better understand this meaning of not being ashamed of the gospel that teaches those who hear and believe that they can receive POWER from God to heal the sick, then you need to know that the Jews FALSELY accused Jesus of SELF-EXALTING himself to be a God.
Let us go ahead and read that passage of Scripture as well.
For you see, the Jews want to KILL Jesus for saying that he is the Son of God, because they THOUGHT that Jesus was making himself an Elohim or a God.
John 10:23-39.
“And Jesus walked in the temple on Solomon’s porch.
John 10:24. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.
John 10:25. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: (Jesus told them plainly that he is the ANOINTED one that Isaiah 61:1,2 prophesied would come in Luke 4:16-21) the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
John 10:26. But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
John 10:27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
John 10:30. I and my Father are one. (And Jesus said in John 17:22-26 that we shall be one with the Father in the same way that Jesus is one with the Father)
John 10:31. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
John 10:32. Jesus answered them, Many good works I have shown you from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me?
John 10:33. The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make YOURSELF God. (Jesus defends himself saying that he is not self-exalting himself to be a God or an Elohim.
But rather, it is Almighty God the Father who is making him a God like Yahweh made Moses a god before Pharaoh in Exodus 7:1.
This verse has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus supposedly CLAIMING to be Almighty God Himself in the FLESH as Oneness Pentecostal Christians and Trinitarian Christians argue.
For you see, Jesus is quoting verses from Psalm 82:1-8 in the very next verse)
John 10:34. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?
John 10:35. If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken;
John 10:36. Say you of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of God? (The actual Greek text says, because I said, Son of the God, I am.
You see, the angels are the sons of God, and in Psalm 8:5 the Hebrew word Elohim is translated as the Angels.
Here is Psalm 8:5 from The Bible in Basic English
“5. For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour.”)
John 10:37. If I do not do the works of my Father, believe me not.
John 10:38. But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
John 10:39. Therefore, (Or because Jesus said to them again PLAINLY that he is indeed the CHRIST and that Almighty God the Father DWELT in him through the ANOINTING of the Spirit that was prophesied in Isaiah 61:1,2) they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,”
1 Corinthians 9:18.
“What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.”
New Living Translation of 2 Corinthians 4:4.
“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the GLORY of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
Philippians 1:27.
“Only let your conversation be as it becomes the gospel of Christ: (Speaking of BOTH ANOINTINGS of the Son of MAN, Jesus) that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”
It is my heartfelt prayer that all Trinitarian Christians come into the UNITY of the FAITH, and of the KNOWLEDGE of the Son of God, unto a PERFECT MAN, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, which we covered in chapter 5 of Book 11 called The TRUE Jesus, According to ALL of the Apostles!
For you see, it was after the cross that it PLEASED Almighty God the Father that the FULLNESS of the ANOINTING of DEITY should DWELL in Jesus bodily, according to Colossians 1:19 and Colossians 2:9.
And that is when the HUMAN Son of God was made a PARTAKER of the DIVINE NATURE of immortality to be made a Lord, a King, and a DEITY, an Elohim or a Theos or a God under his God and Father who would be ONE with Yahweh and never rebel against him like Lucifer did.
