Book 4 Chapter 7.
Is the KJV the FULFILLMENT of Psalm 12:6,7?
The King James ONLY Christians teach that the King James Version of the Bible is the FULFILLMENT of Psalm 12:6,7.
Psalm 12:6,7.
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 12:7. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Now, “assuming” that Psalm 12:6,7 is a promise of God to preserve His written word in the form of the Holy Bible, then how can anyone know for sure WHICH Bible is the “fulfillment” of this passage of Scripture?
In other words, how can any Christian know for sure that ONLY the King James Version is the fulfillment of Psalm 12:6,7?
How can any honest Christian argue that the KJV is the ONLY translation that can be trusted and ALL the other translations of the Bible are corrupt and they cannot be trusted for church doctrine?
Here are some questions for the King James Version ONLY Christians.
#1. Where is your proof from the Scriptures that God promised to preserve ONLY ONE single translation of the Bible that can be trusted?
In other words, God may have preserved His word through the MANY translations of the Bible!
#2. Where is your proof from the Scriptures that God promised to preserve ONLY the King James Version of the Bible?
Again, God may have preserved His word through the MANY translations of the Bible!
#3. Where is your proof from the Scriptures that God has ALREADY fulfilled Psalm 12:6,7?
In other words, the KJV may NOT be the fulfillment of Psalm 12:6,7. And thus, God has a yet FUTURE translation that He will fulfill Psalm 12:6,7!
#4. How can any Christian know for sure that a yet future translation of the Bible could NEVER be the TRUE fulfillment of Psalm 12:6,7?
Again, the KJV may NOT be the fulfillment of Psalm 12:6,7. And God has a yet FUTURE translation that He will fulfill Psalm 12:6,7!
#5. How can any Christian know for sure that God is FINISHED purifying His word?
In other words, God is still purifying His word as more and more manuscripts are being discovered!
#6. If the KJV is the pure word of God, then WHICH edition of the KJV is the correct version?
In other words, is the PURE word of God the 1611 edition, the 1613 edition, the 1629 edition, the 1638 edition, the 1644 edition, the 1701 edition, the 1744 edition, the 1762 edition, the 1769 or the 1850 edition?
Can you not see that if God INSPIRED the King James Version, then there would NOT have been all the CHANGES in the EDITIONS of the 1611 edition of the King James Version of the Bible.
#7. If the KJV was purified SEVEN times, then WHY are there TEN editions of the KJV?
In other words, most KJV ONLY Christians stand by the 1769 edition as being the ONLY PURE word of God. But that is the NINTH revision and NOT the SEVENTH.
#8. Where is the prophecy that says God would preserve His word in only ONE SINGLE language?
In other words, there are NO prophecies to support that the KJV is the ONLY pure word of God.
#9. Where is the proof from the KJV itself that there are NO ERRORS of translations anywhere in the KJV.
In other words, if even ONE single error of translation is found in the KJV, then God is NOT FINISHED purifying His word.
#10. Seeing that the Bible teaches us to obey God rather than MEN, who do not obey God, do you honestly believe that God would have His purest translation NAMED after a MAN who was known who was not a true Christian?
Please understand that I am NOT “condemning” the KJV itself.
But rather, I am pointing out that NO translation of the Bible should ever be exalted by man to teach that it is the ONLY translation that can be trusted for church doctrine.
Consider the following quotes from others and then you decide if a Bible named after an ungodly man is the ONLY PURE word of God.
“Jamesʼs sexual orientation was so widely known that Sir Walter Raleigh joked about it in public saying “King Elizabeth” had been succeeded by “Queen James.”
—Catherine D. Bowen, The Lion and the Throne”
“King James 1 was a known homosexual who murdered his young lovers and victimized countless heretics and women. His cruelty was justified by his “divine right” of kings.
—Otto J. Scott, James the First”
“While the evidence pointing to King James being a homosexual is pretty plentiful, we must first look at something else.
It is important to note that King James (1566-1625) got married when he was 23 years old on November 23, 1589 to Anne of Denmark.
He remained married to her for the rest of her life, until she died in 1619. They also had 8 children together (only 3 lived to adulthood).
In addition, he apparently had an affair with a woman for several years, which began while Anne was pregnant with their first child. Therefore, King James was clearly not attracted to men alone.
The above is a verifiable fact. What follows now is not as clearly verifiable, but still seems like pretty solid evidence. (***Note: Because it is not verifiable, I am not naming names here.)
It is said that James’ relationship with his wife deteriorated over time. While they stayed married, they were rarely together.
After his affair with the woman (which apparently lasted about 2 years), it is believed by most that he began a series of relationships with 3 different men (one after the next) which lasted for the rest of his life. (Some believe the first of his male relationships began before his marriage, while he was still in his teens.)
The evidence pointing to these relationships is found in “love letters” that he wrote to these men. However, whether he was actually the author of them is up for debate.
A bit more conclusive evidence is found in the writings of people who lived during that time which mention the homosexual activities of King James. Reading these letters and writings is pretty convincing proof.”
#11. Does a man or even a group or men SAYING that a particular translation is SUPERIOR to all other translations PROVE that translation to have NO ERRORS just because a group of men SAY so?
The answer is NO! Just because some Christians argue that the KJV is superior to every other translation does NOT prove that every single verse in the KJV is the God INTENDED translation of every verse of Scripture.
For example, Isaiah 45:7 is NOT the God INTENDED translation of that verse of Scripture.
Isaiah 45:7.
“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
How do we know that Isaiah 45:7 has been INCORRECTLY translated in the KJV? We COMPARE Scripture with Scripture.
And 1 John 1:5 clearly teaches us that God is Light and there is no DARKNESS in Him at all. And James clearly teaches us that God tempts no man with EVIL.
So then, the “translation” of God creating EVIL contradicts other verses in the Bible.
Therefore, the CORRECT translation of Isaiah 45:7 is as follows, because it AGREES with every single verse of Scripture in the entire Bible.
The CORRECT translation of Isaiah 45:7.
“I form the light, and CUT DOWN darkness: I make peace, and CUT DOWN evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
