John 8:14,23 Does Not PROVE Jesus Pre-existed!

…John 8:23. And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.”
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus submitted his own will to the Father saying to his God in prayer that if this cup may not pass away from me, except I DRINK it, then Your will be done.
And the root word of the Greek word translated as “whence” means a drink or the act of drinking.
It also means what cause.
Jesus knew from the Scriptures that testify if him that the reason he was born was to be made a King.
And Jesus also knew the cup of suffering that was set before him by his God.
And Jesus knew the reward he would receive if he obeyed his God’s will to bear the punishment for the sins of the world.
But the Jews did not know or understand that the Messiah was gong to suffer and die for the sins of the world.
Rather, the Jews were looking for a King to dleiver them from the Roman bondage.

John 3:31 Does Not Teach Jesus Pre-existed!
This is part one of a two part in-depth study on three verses of Scriptures that are used to teach the doctrine of the Trinity, which cannot exist without a literal and always existing God the Son in the eternity past, who had no beginning as God the Son being always seated at the right-hand of God the Father.
We all agree that Jesus came from God.
We all agree that Jesus pre-existed in SOME form.
But the controversy comes about as to HOW did Jesus pre-exist.
What I mean by this is, “did Jesus pre-exist as God’s eternal divine Son, who was a SEPARATE person of the ONE God who was WITH the God at His right-hand SIDE in the eternity past?”
Or did Jesus pre-exist as an IMAGE, which the only true God in one person had WITHIN Himself as a desire in His mind and plan of salvation to one day have a Son, who He Himself would bring forth as a human son first, and then beget on a certain day God raised the Son of MAN, Jesus, from the dead and GAVE him eternal life?
Or did Jesus have his BEGINNING in the eternity past as the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach?
Let me begin this study in God’s word by saying that John 8:23 is probably the main verse of Scripture that is used by Christians, who believe that Jesus pre-existed as God’s eternal divine Son as a SEPARATED person, who was WITH the God at His right-hand SIDE in the eternity.
And the reason for why they believe Jesus literally pre-existed his Virgin birth is because Jesus said he is not of THIS world.
Thus, Trinitarian Christians take John 8:23 out of its context to try to prove that Jesus pre-existed or always existed as God the Son without ever having a beginning.
Trinitarian Christians also use John 8:14 and John 3:31 as well, because these verses of Scripture say that Jesus said he was FROM ABOVE.
Let us first read these three verses out of their context, and then we will see what the Bible itself actually teaches us as to what these verses truly, mean when they are correctly interpreted in the light of the whole word of God.
John 3:31.
“He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all.”
John 8:14.
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know where I came, and where I go, but you cannot tell where I come, and where I go.”
John 8:23.
“And he said unto them, You are from BENEATH; I am from ABOVE: you are of THIS world; I am NOT of this world.”
When these verses are read alone and apart from the rest of God’s word, then they SEEM to teach that literally Jesus pre-existed up in heaven.
And thus, he would have had to come down to the earth as God the Son to become the Son of MAN like some other verses of Scripture also seem to be implying due to the way they have been translated.
But is this what these verses of Scripture are TRULY saying, when they are correctly translated and correctly interpreted in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of God?
What I mean by this is that almost any verse of Scripture, when it is viewed ALONE and APART from the REST of God’s word, may SEEM to be saying something that it is NOT truly saying.
This is why we must compare Scripture with Scripture, and also be sure to use the WHOLE word of God to see if what we have INTERPRETED agrees with every other part of God’s word.
We really only have three possibilities as to HOW Jesus pre-existed.
I will list these three possible ways in no particular order.
#1. Jesus LITERALLY and ALWAYS pre-existed as a LITERAL SEPARATE person called the Son of God.
And the always existed ETERNAL Son of God was WITH God at His right-hand SIDE in the eternity past without ever having a beginning as the doctrine of the doctrine of the Trinity teaches.
#2. Jesus was brought into existence as God’s FIRST creation as a literal Spirit person called the Word.
And Spirit person named the Word was with God at God’s side in the eternity past as the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach.
#3. Jesus pre-existed WITHIN the Almighty God as God’s IMAGE, desire, and plan of salvation to bring forth a HUMAN Son made a little lower than the angels.
And then, after the cross and resurrection the God of Jesus highly exalted His human Son to become God’s eternal Son, whom he RECEIVED up into heaven to be seated at the right-hand side of Almighty God the Father as the DOCTRINE of the Apostle clearly teach us in the New Testament of the Bible.
So then, whichever interpretation one concludes, then ALL of the verses of Scripture in the Bible must speak in AGREEMENT to whichever INTERPRETATION one chooses to believe.
As for myself, I personally have chosen the latter interpretation number 3, which says that Jesus pre-existed WITHIN the Almighty God as God’s plan of salvation.
And I also want to clarify that God formed His plan of salvation AFTER the insolent war in heaven erupted into an intergalactic war, where one side of heaven was against the other side of heaven, according to Deuteronomy 4:32 and Psalm 8:1-6, plus many other passages of Scripture that I cover under the menu heading called The PREVIOUS Age of the Earth.
And thus, the beginning in Genesis 1:1, the beginning in Proverbs 8:22, and the beginning in John 1:1 are not referring to the ORIGINAL beginning in the eternity past as Orthodox Christians misleads Christians to wrongly believe.
Plain and simple, Satan the Devil has DECEIVED the WHOLE world as prophesied by the Apostle John in Revelation 12:9 that would happen.
With that being said, Jesus KNEW the Scriptures spoke of HIM.
Jesus KNEW the PROPHECY in Isaiah 9:6,7 of a CHILD being BORN of a VIRGIN spoke of HIM.
And, therefore, Jesus knew by the revelation given to him form his God and Father that the SOURCE of him being conceived in the womb of Mary his mother was from ABOVE.
That is why Jesus said that he was from above and came from down from heaven as the TRUE bread.
The word “bread” in the Bible speaks of doctrine and teaching.
Thus, the living bread means that Jesus teaches us the words that will give us eternal life in the world to come.
Also, Jesus was saying that he was hearing words spoken to him from ABOVE that are NOT of this world.
But rather, the words he heard and spoke were from God.
And many of the Jews who did NOT believe in him were listening to THEIR father the devil that is from BENEATH.
Therefore, ALL UNBELIEVERS will REMAIN “of THIS world”, and die in their sins, unless the BELIEVE in the NAME of Jesus to be born from ABOVE by faith in the word of Almighty God.
But if they continue to listen to the father of LIES to follow the ways of this world, then they will die in their sins and be cast into the lake of fire on the final Day of Judgment.
Again, Jesus was not of this world, in that, Jesus did not follow the ways of this world.
Orthodox Christianity does not teach that the human Son of God was BORN-AGAIN, but the Bible itself does indeed teach us that Jesus was born-again.
We know this for a fact, because in John 17:14-16, Jesus himself said it TWICE that we are not of this world in the same way that he is not of this world.
Let us now read the CONTEXT of John 8:23 that clearly teaches us that those from BENEATH are UNBELIEVERS only.
In other words, the words of Jesus saying that he is form above and the unbelieving Jesus are from below simply means that Jesus was born-again from above and everyone who does not believe in Jesus to also be born-again will remain the children of the Devil.
Jesus says to us as BELIEVERS that we are in the world, but we are not of this world, which again, shows us that Jesus is referring to ONLY those who do not believe in him, as are ones from BENEATH, the children of the Devil.
And thus, the unbelievers or the unsaved in this present world will remain dead in their sins, until or unless they repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
According to Acts 4:12, the name of Jesus is the only is the only name given among men, whereby we must be saved,
And in John 14:6 Jesus teaches us that he is the only way to the Father.
Please read John 8:12-32, but let us read one verse at a time so that we can take time to digest what is actually being said in each verse.
John 8:12. “Then Jesus spoke again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that FOLLOWS me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
The subject of the context is about being a FOLLOWER of Jesus as the Messiah that was prophesied to come.
Let me clarify what being a true follower of Jesus means after the cross and resurrection.
I have heard testimonies of both Catholics and Protestant say that after many years of being priests, pastors, teachers in the church, they came to understand that they were not truly saved.
And how did they come to know that they were not truly saved after being in the church for many years thinking that they were saved because they were faithful to attend their church service?
Well, plain and simple, they became true born-again Christians and that witness of the Holy Spirit bore witness to them that they were truly saved.
And thus, they no longer simply hoped that they would go to heaven when they die.
They now have complete peace and assurance that they will indeed go to heaven when they die or when Jesus come to rapture the church and execute the wrath of Almighty God the Father upon the unsaved.
The word “light” is better understood as Jesus teaching us who are of the world, the words that give us the knowledge of the way that leads us to eternal life in the world to come.
So then, after we initially believe in Jesus as or Lord and Savior, then that light comes in to our hearts as a witness within us, so that we will continue to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
John 8:13. “The Pharisees, therefore, said unto him, You bear record of yourself; your record is not true.”
The Pharisees are from beneath. They are of the world, and thus, their father is the Devil.
Therefore, they bear the fruits and the image of Satan to falsely accuse the teachings of the anointed Son of man, Jesus, as not being true.
But in the next verse, we see Jesus defending himself against their false accusation.
John 8:14. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know where I CAME, and where I go, but you cannot tell where I come, and where I go.”
This verse has no less than three meanings.
One meaning is the Orthodox tradition, which states that Jesus pre-existed in heaven as God the Son, the second person of a Godhead Trinitarian God made up of three separate persons.
A second meaning is the Biblical Unitarian understanding of Jesus
In other words, Jesus UNDERSTOOD that the Scriptures spoke of him as being the one prophesied to come.
But the unbelieving Jews did not understand that the Scriptures prophesied about Jesus as being the Messiah.
To say this another way, these UNBELIEVING Jews did not believe the prophecies that Jesus was miraculously CONCEIVED in the womb of the VIRGIN Mary, without Jesus having a HUMAN father.
They did not believe that Jesus was conceived in the womb of the VIRGIN Mary by the SPOKEN word of the prophecy of God sent down by way of the angel Gabriel.
And they did not understand that when Mary BELIEVED the words of God spoken to her by Gabriel that the Holy Spirit overshadowed her and the word of prophecy was brought to pass or conceived in her womb.
In other words, they did not understand that God performed or fulfilled the prophecy in Jeremiah 31:22 to create a manchild in the womb of a woman without the woman having sexual intercourse with a man.
And they also did not understand the Scriptures that spoke of the suffering and death of the Messiah.
Thus, they had no understanding of the Messiah ascending up into heaven for a time, before he would descend back down to the earth to rule and reign for 1000 years.
They did not understand that there would be two comings of Jesus that would be separated by a span of two thousand years.
And thus, they only understood the Messiah coming to deliver them from the armies that seek to destroy them.
The LITERAL translation reads that Jesus was PERCEIVING from where he came and where he would be going.
But when I dug a little deeper into the meaning of the Greek words that are “translated” as “whence I come and whence I go”, then I saw a third possible meaning.
And that third meaning is that Jesus knew that he was manifested to DRINK of the cup of shedding his blood on the cross to bear the punishment for the sins of the entire world.
Wow, I know! That is the same reaction that I had when I first saw that the root meaning of the Greek word translated as whence, literally means to DRINK.
And when I saw that meaning, the Holy Spirit brought over verses of Scripture to my mind where Jesus prayed to his God and Father.
And while he agonized in prayer, sweating great drops of blood, Jesus realized that the only way the cup of suffering would pass away is if he DRINKS the cup.
So, he said to his God and Father, let not my desire to not suffer the cross be done, rather, let Your will be done.
And, I believe that at that moment in time, God brought to the Son of man’s remembrances the joy of all of the promises in the Scriptures that would be given unto Jesus, if he endured the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2.
Thus, the true sound Biblical meaning of verse 14 is that it was translated INCORRECTLY, and it should have been translated as follows.
John 8:14 when it is correctly translated and understood. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know that I come to DRINK of a cup, and I know I go, but you cannot tell why I am here, and where I go.”
John 8:15. “You judge after the flesh; I judge no man.”
In other words, Jesus is saying that they were judging him with the judgment that came from their father, the Devil.
And Jesus adds that he does not judge any man, but rather, it is Almighty God the Father who will judge the world by the words that Jesus speaks, according to John 12:46-50.
John 8:16. “And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.”
In other words, Jesus was saying that God was WITH him by DWELLING in him.
And thus, Jesus was only speaking the word that his God put into his mouth to speak and teach, according to the prophecy in Deuteronomy 18:15-22.
To me, this is one of the many verses that prove that Jesus is not Yahweh Himself during the days of his flesh, because Yahweh was WITH the Son of MAN.
Also, in John 5:19 and in verse 30 as well, Jesus said he could do nothing of himself.
And in John 14:10, Jesus clearly teaches us that it was the FATHER dwelling in him who did the works bearing witness that he was sent OUT into the world as the ANOINTED human Son of God with a portion of God’s Spirit that came FROM or by God above.
John 8:17. “It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.”
We see many times in the four gospels that Jesus quotes Scriptures saying it is written.
Jesus did that because, according to Isaiah 50:4-9, God visited the Son of man, Jesus, and taught him that the Scriptures testify of him as being the one prophesied to come.
The word “law” is referring to the law of Moses that was only given to the children of Israel until the Messiah came.
And, by the way, the law being added until the Messiah came, was actually ordained by the angels, according to Galatians 3:19.
So, to me, I had to ask God why, or by what authority do the angels have to ordain anything?
And God showed me that some of the angels were made or set to become Elohim or gods under and subject to him, according to Psalm 83:1-8 and Psalm 8:1-6.
And the God arising in verse 8 is a prophecy of Jesus being resurrected to become a God to replace Satan as the God over the whole earth for 1000 years during the world to come.
And Yahweh, the Creator is doing this to judge the world by the man whom He ordained and raised from the dead, according to Acts 17:22-31.
John 8:18. “I am one that bears witness of myself, and the Father that sent me bears witness of me.”
Here we see very clearly that Jesus is one person and the Father is another person.
But even as early as the day of the Apostles in the first century, there were false teachers who wrongly taught against the ANOINTING of Jesus,
In other words, they sincerely believed and taught that God manifested Himself to become the Son.
And there are still Christians in the world today, called the Oneness Pentecostal Christians, who wrongly teach that Jesus and the Father are one and the self-same being.
John 8:19. “Then said they unto him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You neither know me, nor my Father: if you had known me, you should have known my Father also.”
Clearly, the Father is not the Son and the Son of God is not the Father.
Later, Jesus plainly tells the unbelieving Jews that THEY are of THEIR father the DEVIL, which infuriated those UNBELIEVING Jews who wanted to KILL Jesus, because of his WORDS or teaching about them having Satan as their father.
John 8:20. “These WORDS Jesus spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour had not yet come.”
Here we see that there was indeed and hour or a specific day and time of day that was ordained as the hour in which the one prophesied to come would be cut off from the land of the living for three days and three nights.
But that hour of the crucifixion had not yet come.
John 8:21. “Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, you cannot come.”
Jesus is saying that he is going to the cross to DRINK of the cup of shedding his blood for the atonement of sins.
The cross and resurrection is that point in time when God CONCLUDED all of mankind to be under sin so that He could show His mercy and give His grace to save whosoever BELIEVED in the NAME of His only begotten Son.
Therefore, Jesus is warning the Jews and the unsaved Gentiles that the only way to the Father is to believe that Jesus is the one God chose to ANOINT to be made both Lord and Christ to be seated on God’s throne, according to Acts 2:36, Hebrews 1:8, and many other verses of Scripture.
John 8:22. “Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he said, Where I go, you cannot come.”
No! Jesus did not kill himself. But rather, Jesus obeyed the voice of his God and Father teaching him that the Scriptures testify of him.
And if he endured the cross, then his God would crown him with glory, honor, and power to inherit the worlds to come, according to Revelation 5:12, Hebrews 2:5-9, Hebrews 12:2, and many other verses of Scripture.
John 8:23. “And he said unto them, You are from BENEATH; I am from ABOVE: you are of THIS world; I am NOT of this world.”
The first phrase, “you are from beneath” simply means that those UNBELIEVING Jews were of their father the DEVIL from BENEATH.
And that they were listening to and following the voice of Satan, who was deceiving them and blinding their minds to the truth.
The second phrase, “I am from above” simply means that Jesus was anointed by his God to be born-again from above.
And it means that Jesus was hearing, believing, and obeying his God and Father to TEACH the TRUE BREAD or TRUE TEACHING of God that came down from heaven and God put his words into the mouth of His Prophet, according to Deuteronomy 18:15-22.
In other words, Jesus was teaching the WORDS of God that the Father SPOKE to the Son of MAN, which spoke or testified of Jesus being the one prophesied to be the Messiah.
So then, Jesus was simply repeating what he heard the Father speak to him for him to speak to us.
Also, keep in mind that Jesus was speaking to the NON-believers saying the third phrase, “you are of this world”
This simply means that these unbelieving Jews were OBEYING the god of THIS present world.
Then in the last phrase, “I am not of this world”, Jesus is simply saying that he has been borg-again.
And that Jesus was OBEYING his God and Father, who is NOT the god of this present world system.
The Apostle Paul sarcastically asked us the question, “KNOW you NOT that whom you OBEY his SERVANTS you ARE?”
And, in a nutshell. that is basically what verse 23 means in the light of the whole word of Almighty God.
John 8:24. “I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins.”
So then, who is Jesus himself saying that he is?
Is Jesus saying that he is Almighty God Himself in the flesh as both Trinitatrian Christians and Oneness Pentecostal Christians dogmatically demand that Jesus is saying in John 8:24 and also in John 8:58.
Or is Jesus saying that he is the one prophesied to come even before Abraham was born?
Before give you answer, let us allow the word of Jesus recorded in the Scriptures to teach us the true sound Biblical God intended meaning.
In other words, let us base our faith on the Scriptures alone and not upon what church TRADITION teaches.
John 8:25. “Then said they unto him, WHO are you? And Jesus said unto them, Even the SAME that I said unto you from the BEGINNING”
The beginning is peaking of the beginning of his MINISTRY when his God and Father sent, or more precisely when God COMMISSIONED His human Son Jesus by ANOINTING him to go out INTO the world to proclaim that the kingdom of God is at hand.
Again, the words, Jesus Christ mean that Jesus was ANOINTED by Almighty God.
And one of the reasons that God anointed the Son of man was for Jesus to SHOW us the Father as being the one TRUTHFUL and only Almighty God.
For a deeper understanding of all of the verses of Scripture that led me to this conclusion of the TRUE Jesus, please read the study John 8:24 If You Do Not Believe I am!
And to understand why I use the words the only TRUTHFUL God, as opposed to saying the only TRUE God, please read the study called John 17:3. The Father is the Only TRUTHFUL God!
But for now, let us continue with this study in God’s word.
John 8:26. “I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that SENT me is TRUTHFUL; and I speak to the world those things which I have HEARD OF HIM.”
The word “sent” actually means the one who is SENDING His Son Jesus OUT into the world in the present TENSE to speak the words that his God put into his mouth to speak.
Again, the Son of God was manifested to show us that the Father is the TRUTHFUL God and that Satan is the LYING god of this present world.
The church has not been “adequately” told that the Hebrew word that is translated as “angels” in Psalm 8:5 is the Hebrew word “Elohim”.
And thus, Satan is the LYING Elohim from before the BEGINNING, according to John 8:44.
The Greek word translated as “from” the beginning also means BEFORE the beginning, and the rebellion of the fallen Elohim happened BEFORE the beginning this present age when God created man BECAUSE of His enemies, according to Psalm 8:1-6.
Therefore, the beginning in Genesis 1:1, the beginning in Proverbs 8:22, and the beginning in John 1:1 are not referring to the original beginning in the eternity past some billions of years ago.
John 8:27. “They understood not that he spoke to them of the Father.”
In other words, the Jews did not understand that the TRUTHFUL one who sent him was the Father, as in, Almighty God the Father.
And they did not understand that they were listening to the LYING god, Satan, the Devil, who Jesus says in their father down in verse 44 of this chapter.
John 8:28. Then said Jesus unto them, WHEN you have lifted up the Son of MAN, then shall you KNOW that I am he, and that I do nothing OF myself; but as my Father has TAUGHT me, I speak these things.”
In John 5:18, the unbelieving Jews falsely accused Jesus of making himself equal with God when Jesus called God his Father.
But yet, they also said that they had but one Father, who is God.
My point in bringing this up is to show you that Jesus DEFENDED himself by saying that he himself can do NOTHING of himself, in John 5:19.
Jesus further explains that he is only obeying what his God and Father is telling him to do and say.
Also, you need to know that the PROPHECIES teach us that God would ANOINT a MAN, who would be the Messiah.
And thus, Jesus is saying in verses 24 and 25, I am he, the one prophesied to be the Christ, which means the ANOINTED OF God.
Jesus ONLY spoke what the Father put into his mouth to speak.
Thus Jesus spoke God’s words and not his own words or his own TEACHING.
So then, the BREAD or the TEACHING that came down from heaven that speaks of me, has being given to me from God above.
And by contrast, the LEAVEN of the Pharisees came from BENEATH from their father, Satan, the Devil.
That is what Jesus is leading up to in John 8:44.
John 8:29. “And he that sent me is WITH me: the Father has not left me alone; for I always do those things that please Him.”
Trusting the Father to obey what He says is for our GOOD is what pleases the Father.
The Apostle Paul said that if God if for us, then who can be against us.
So, the moral of the story, so to speak, is that it is better for us to have God with us, than it is for us to do things against God’s desire by leaning toward our own understanding, listening to the lies of the lying god, Satan the Devil.
Alsom the Greek word translated as “sent” in the past tense can be deceptive.
Thus, a more correct translation would be the one who IS SENDING me in the present tense.
John 8:30. “As he spoke these WORDS, many believed on him.”
What caused the sudden change of mind in those unbelieving Jews who wanted to kill Jesus, but now, many of them BELIEVE the words of Jesus?
To me, it finally sunk into their hard-headed stubbornness, that Jesus was saying the whole time that his God was WITH him.
John 8:31. “Then said Jesus to THOSE Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you, my disciples, indeed;”
Again, what Jesus taught was God’s WORDS of a NEW COVENANT that Almighty God establish in the shed blood of His human Son, Jesus.
Philippians 2:8-11 clearly teaches the very REASON for why the God of Jesus HIGHLY EXALTED him and gave him a NAME that is more excellent than the angels, also known as the Elohim.
This is the Gospel that Christians ought to be teaching.
This is the UNITY of the faith that the Apostle Paul endeavored to bring back to the church that was beginning to APOSTATIZE right before the eyes of the Apostles of Jesus.
The Apostle Peter teaches us in 1 Peter 3:22 that Jesus ascended into heaven to be seated at the right-hand side of Almighty God having the angel made subject to him.
But church TRADITION teaches a DIFFERENT Jesus that misleads Christians to wrongly believe that the angels have always been subject to Jesusm because Jesus is Almighty God Himself in the flesh.
However, that is not the Jesus that Jesus and the Apostles of Jesus teach us in the New Testament.
John 8:32. “And you shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE.”
Some of my readers, who did not see past the blindness of the minds at first, have now said to me that once you see the TRUTH, then you cannot unsee it.
They now see the truth everywhere in the Bible saying the same thing, which is that a man BECAME a Deity under and subject to his God and Father.
I will end part one of this Verse Study by giving you a quote that God led me to find on another website.
This quote will show my readers that Christians have ALWAYS believed that a MAN was highly exalted to BECOME a god under and subject to his God.
But other Christ seeking power, fame, riches, and the esteem from men, turned the TRUE Gospel upside down by forcing the doctrine of the Trinity upon the church, which teaches the exact opposite, which is that God Himself BECAME a man.
Here is a quote from another website explaining what the Council of Chalcedon in 451 AD was all about.
“The Council of Chalcedon was called in 451 CE by the Roman Emperor Marcian (r. 450-457) to settle debates regarding the nature (hypostases, "reality") of Christ that had begun at two earlier meetings in Ephesus (431 CE and 439 CE).
The question was whether Christ was human or divine, a man who became God (through the resurrection and ascension) or God who became a man (through the incarnation, "taking on flesh"), and how his humanity and divinity affected his essence and being, if at all.”
In other words, ALL Christians at that time in history agreed that Jesus was DEITY or had divine NATURE.
But the question or DEBATE was HOW was Jesus Deity? When was Jesus Deity?
And did the Son of man, Jesus, become deity after the cross and resurrection?
Or did a pre-existing God become a man who remained fully God during the days of his flesh having BOTH natures at the SAME time, one Divine and one human, DURING the days of his FLESH?

And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
