I deeply appreciate your courage to reach out for help. I view therapy as a unique opportunity for connection, empowerment, healing, and growth in a safe and open space. I believe that life can be challenging and even painful for all of us at times, but suffering need not be a constant companion. My counseling style is holistic, reflective, and flexible, rooted in a humanistic perspective and guided by a trauma-informed lens. By collaborating with you and honoring your choices, I strive to tailor my approach to your unique needs and goals.
I believe that our emotional experiences are a fundamental part of human existence as they reflect our profound needs. When we are too afraid to confront and express these intense, unwanted emotions, they can manifest in alternative, sometimes somatic ways. Together, we can face and explore your feelings and fears, attending to how they want you to help yourself. I also take a systems-oriented view, seeing individuals as whole beings in the context of larger systems, including couples and families. I will pay attention to various aspects of your well-being - physical, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual/philosophical. I am particularly interested in the mind-body connections to heal from trauma.
I hold an MS in Mental Health Counseling and an Advanced Certificate in Mind/Body Healing and Wellness from the University of Rochester. I have had the privilege of working with culturally diverse populations, interpersonal trauma survivors, young adults, and international students.
As your fellow life traveler, I am here to support and empower you with compassion and authenticity, wherever you are on your journey. I hope to help unlock your potential for a more grounded, integrated, self-led, and free life. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your journey!
