Sephora Reyes
MHC-LP
Sephora believes in cultivating an environment of trust and acceptance for her clients. By considering the narrative of early childhood development, attachment styles, and working to understand the cause of maladaptive behaviors, we can work through and evolve new behaviors in alignment with wellness and fulfillment. Sephora uses an empathic approach to understand her clients and is motivated by employing therapy modalities in which focus on developing a unique perspective of her client’s strengths such as through person-centered therapy, and strength-based plan for skill development that can be utilized long after therapy is complete.
Sephora believes in building resilience and self-awareness for every client. Sephora’s diverse approach draws from many modalities including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness training, Attachment theory, and Psychodynamic therapy. Sephora has experience treating mood disorders, (including anxiety and depression), thought disorders, substance abuse, ADHD/Autism, and personality disorders. She wants to focus on working with a variety of clients from all ages including individuals with chronic mental illness, grief, self-esteem, couples counseling, convicted felons, cognitively impaired, and the LGBTQ community. Sephora completed her B.A. in Psychology from Touro College and has a MSed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Saint John’s University. Sephora speaks English and Spanish.
