Operation Standards
How will the work described in the service level be done?
Ensure the pool test kit meets local DOH standards.
DPD Chlorine Testing, PH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness
Digital ColorQ7 is one of the easier kits to use.
Ensure Test Kit Reagents are NOT expired.
Store indoors during the winter.
Laminate the instructions for your test kit and keep posted in the area where you perform your pool tests, for easy reference.
Create laminated “Cheat Sheet” of adequate test ranges for each test (according to local DOH code), for easy reference.
Store Pool Chemicals according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Keep this area well ventilated.
Have the MSDS sheets for all the chemicals in this area in an easily accessible location.
Ensure all chemicals are not expired.
Have a dedicated “Garbage Grabber” for the pool to submerge the water sample bottle into the pool for collection.
If you have multiple pools, each testing log should be easily identifiable.
Keep past testing logs, for 1 year or per local DOH requirement, in an easily accessible location.
Don’t forget to utilize your local pool supply company’s free testing as well.
Keep these as a record with your pool logs.
When is the work described in the service level to be done and when is it not to be done?
3 times per day, each day of the pool operating season.
