LORNE LASUITA

Lorne Lasuita’s long-time involvement with the Saskatchewan Games began in 1974 where he uncovered an incredible skill for steering the event’s logistics to success. From serving as Chef de Mission, to Provincial Games Consultant, to Selection Committee for host communities and the Games’ Sport Calendar, his dedication to the event shines through his work at every Sask Games from 1974 to the present 2023 Saskatchewan Games. The Saskatchewan Games ignited a strong passion for multi-sport games that continued through similar roles at Canada Games and as a member of the Mission Staff at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Lorne’s deep-rooted experience taught him that through passion for sport, the Games provide opportunities for young athletes to be engaged in an activity that might lead them to thrive in another level of competition. He believes the legacy of the Games lies in the facilities that stay in the communities and continue to support sport development for generations to come. Currently, he is looking forward to volunteering with the Athlete Experience Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Games at the 2023 Saskatchewan Games in Regina.
