WENDY PLANDOWSKI

Wendy Plandowski says she is honoured to have been the first-ever female Chair of the Saskatchewan Games. She graciously took on the position for the 2008 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster. Then in 2020, she was the volunteer Director for the Games that were unfortunately canceled due to covid. However, as the situation evolved, she accepted the Co-Chair position for the 2024 Summer Games in Lloydminster. Wendy says she “believes the ultimate goal of being a volunteer is referred to as "volunesia". It’s where your intention is to serve others, and potentially change lives but at some point in the process you realize that the life being changed is your own, and I have to say that volunteering for the Games has been that experience for me.” Further, Wendy describes the Games’ legacy as the way it “creates this wonderful place where athletes, volunteers and communities meet and intersect for the betterment of sport.”
