HOWARD GANGE

Howard Gange’s unwavering dedication to the Prince Albert sporting community led him to serve as Sport Chairman for the 1992 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Prince Albert. Howard says he values the connections he made during that time as well as the opportunity to serve his community and the province in a meaningful way. “The Games experience provided the city and district of P.A. with many physical improvements and additions to better serve the area with opportunities for young people to participate and excel in their chosen sport,” he said. Howard also noted the positive impact they had on community members who volunteered their time for the Games and went on to pursue other leadership roles within the city. Following the 1992 Games, he continued to serve as a member of the Saskatchewan Games Council, and worked with Prince Albert’s City Council to successfully secure the bid for the 1999 Western Canada Summer Games. He went on to Chair the City’s Games Committee for four years - acting not only as the Games Chair but also as the CEO of the Games Council. Howard saw first-hand how Games facilities can serve as a model for organizers and entrepreneurs to expand on their existing construction, and believes their legacy is solidified in the benefits they offer the community for years to come.
