DARRELL BAKER

Darrell Baker has 10 Saskatchewan Games under his belt - six representing the Saskatchewan Games Council and SaskSport, two as a baseball coach, one as a baseball scout and one as Mission Staff. He emphasized that some of his proudest moments were coaching the 1972 and 1976 Regina Male Baseball Teams at the Saskatchewan Summer Games - notably the 1976 Games where they took home the gold medal! Darryl says he sees each Games experience as a challenge to help create an environment that coaches, athletes, parents, and other mission staff can consider the greatest sporting event of their lives. As for the Games’ legacy, he believes it lies in the incredible facilities built in the host communities and their ability to provide a stepping stone for athletes to potentially compete at the national and international level.
