JACKIE POWELL

Jackie Powell’s involvement with the Saskatchewan Games as a swim coach continues to be an invaluable experience for her as she is able to share her love of sport with athletes and coaches from around the province. She was the coach for the Southwest District swim team at the 1992 and 2000 Saskatchewan Summer Games, and returned to be a Mission Staff member for the 2014, 2016 and 2018 Games. She currently coaches swimmers including Special Olympic swimmers in the Swift Current Southwest District. Jackie’s sought after coaching skills have created an impressive resume which includes Team Canada at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai 200, Athens 2011 and Los Angeles 2015. She applauds the Saskatchewan Games legacy, describing it as an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills and prepare them for higher level sporting experiences while developing life skills through training, commitment and healthy lifestyle habits.
