TERRI-LYNN BEAVEREYE

Terri-Lynn Beavereye is proud to represent Northern Saskatchewan and her devotion to the Saskatchewan Games is apparent in the fact that she has traveled with a group of athletes and coaches for more than 15 hours to volunteer her time for the event. She served as Mission Staff for three Saskatchewan Games and later took on the responsibility of Chef de Mission representing Team North for another three Games in Meadow Lake, Estevan and North Battleford. “Personally, the Games meant meeting new people who love sports and observing the skills and participation from our Saskatchewan youth,” she said. “I know for myself when traveling in the north, if I see an athlete wearing Saskatchewan Games clothing it touches my heart.” For Terri-Lynn, an important memory was working at the mission desk in North Battleford and having a display of First Nation culture and games. Further, she believes “the legacy for the community was leaving behind facility upgrades and economic growth. Communities need these upgrades to continue to offer sports and events within their community.” Today, she continues to be involved with sport through the Northern Sport Culture & Recreation District as Chairperson. “I am always promoting the district, community events and any sports clinics that are offered. These games give communities something to look forward to if they don't compete anywhere else,” she said.
