RYAN LAROSE

Ryan LaRose’s involvement with the Saskatchewan Games is three-fold; first as an athlete, then as a spectator, and now as a Director at Large for the Saskatchewan Games Council. He first competed in tennis doubles at the 1996 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Moose Jaw. “My experience, from the bus ride down, to the opening ceremonies, to the collegial atmosphere through to the on-and-off the court support and accommodation, was immensely positive and was foundational in furthering my pride for the province of Saskatchewan,” Ryan said. He went on to compete in baseball at the following 2000 Summer Games in Yorkton for baseball. Then, when his hometown of North Battleford hosted the Winter Games in 2018 he attended as a spectator. Finally, the opportunity to be a Director at Large with the Saskatchewan Games Council (SGC) presented itself to Ryan in the summer of 2021 and he took it on with pride. “Upon my appointment I gained another level of respect for the Saskatchewan Games Council. The level of talent, experience and commitment from the executive team is unquestionable and the dedication and desire from the Board of Directors is second to none for a non-profit board,” he boasted. As for the Games’ legacy he says it prevails as a truly worthwhile experience for everyone involved regardless of age, gender, race, culture or athletic skill-set or understanding as an all-inclusive venue.
