DISCUSSION
Every child has the right to go to school. As early as three years old, a child can start studying in a preschool. This opportunity will make a child’s life more fruitful and productive and will enable him/her to have a brighter future.
A. A Child Who Goes to School
B. A Child Who Does Not Go to School
May become idle and waste his/her time
Always remember that being able to go to school is a great blessing from God. Perseverance and determination will help you overcome any difficulty and you will be able to study. Not even poverty should be a hindrance for you to finish your studies.
How do you feel about being able to go to school?
Let us take a look at these two girls. They are both six years old. Pilar lives in one of the streets in Port Area, Tondo, Manila. She has four brothers and three sisters. Her parents are both vendors in Divisoria. With no regular jobs, Pilar’s parents are having a hard time feeding their children and providing for their needs. Only three of their children are in school. Unfortunately, Pilar does not go to school. She just stays at home to take care of her younger siblings and do household chores. During Sundays, she sells sampaguita in the church patio. Pilar is sad because she really wants to go to school.
On the other hand, Riza lives in Binondo, Manila. Her father is a government employee, and her mother is a teacher. She has only one brother. They both go to school. They are deeply grateful and happy that they are able to study.
We should really be thankful that we are able to study. We should take every opportunity to make full use of this blessing. We should study hard and do all our school activities. This is one way of thanking God and our parents. Being able to study is a gift. Let us treasure it.
