WHAT IS MATTER?
All these creatures,
Big ones and small
Living or nonliving
God made them all!
Who made all creatures on earth?
What do we call these creatures?
What do we call other things that man made?
All the things around are matter.
Name the objects around us.
Do they have weight? Do they have mass?
Do they take up mass?
Matter has weight and mass. Weight tells if an object is heavy or light. It tells the mass of an object.
Activity 1: Size and Shape of Matter
Look at the things in your bag. what is the shape of your notebook?
What is the shape of your eraser, pencil, pencil case, and water bottle?
What are the sizes? Are they big or small?
Matter has size and shape.
Activity 2: Study the place where your teacher's table is found.
Can you put another table in the exact place where the teacher's table is?
Get a glass filled with water. Try to pour more water into it. What happens? What do these activities prove?
Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space. The three states of matter are;

CHARACTERISTICS OF MATTER ARE:

Some of them have color and taste.
