As the upstanding organization it is, the GCSF will regularly accept requests for help from clients all across the Great Ocean! While many of these undertakings involve delving into a dungeon to make discoveries, save unfortunate wanderers, or even chase after criminals, there are always odd-jobs to run at the behest of the guild itself as well.
Jobs are a semi-regular activity that lasts for one month at a time! These are jobs and prompts that teams and characters can participate in to earn Rank Points, item rewards, and Poke!
Missions are the primary way that your team will rank up, giving them access to perks such as special recruits and gaining another team!
Jobs are optional objectives that can be completed while exploring a dungeon. These prompts are rarely connected to the overarching group plot and missions, but can be considered “side quests” that make running dungeons outside of major events a little more interesting!
They’re similar to smaller-scale missions, but there are no branch restrictions and you can only earn a limited amount of Rank Points per month.
By submitting a dungeon piece that satisfies a job’s prompt requirements, you can earn small bonuses of Poké and other items!
All teams begin at Rookie Rank and can slowly climb their way all the way to Master Rank!
Ranking up is a representation of your team's experience as they explore the world with the GCSF and grow as an adventuring band. You can gain certain perks and rewards for ranking up, as detailed below!
When completing a job that takes place in a dungeon, your earnings will be higher than usual!
Normally, each character in a drawn submission is worth 50p each. For jobs, each character will be worth 100p each!
For written job submissions, you’ll gain a flat bonus of +200p for every 500 words!
In addition to the bonus Poké, each job has one or more item rewards that can be earned once per user for that job. Subsequent completions will not grant the item reward again.
By default, the item will be given to the team(s) that complete the job. If you have multiple teams and wish to move the item(s) you earned from the job to a different team, you would do so by requesting so in #inventory.
Teams are rewarded 1 Rank Point per job completion, up to a maximum of 3 RP per month!
You are allowed to complete more than 3 jobs per month, but your team will not earn any RP for any extra jobs you do! However, you can still earn the item rewards for completing extra jobs.
If multiple of your own teams are featured in a submission, only one of your teams may gain Rank Points for the completion.
Because of this, it is recommended that you only bring one of your own teams per submission if both teams would benefit from earning Rank Points.
If you do feature multiple teams in a single submission, you will be asked which team you would like to grant the RP to before they are added to the inventories.
However, if one of your featured teams is already at the maximum Rank and can no longer earn RP, the Rank Points will automatically be added to your other featured team that can still gain RP.
Here's a quick visual guide on how to submit a job using the Dungeon Grader!
These are the types of jobs you can expect to run into!
Arrest jobs require the party to pursue and apprehend one or more specified NPCs. The goal of these jobs is to apprehend outlaws and other troublesome individuals causing problems for the common 'mon.
Submissions for these jobs must depict the party confronting the target(s)!
Defeat jobs require the party to battle against one or more specified NPCs. The targets of these jobs can range from outlaws on the run to even just friendly civilians who want a challenge!
Submissions for these jobs must depict the party battling against the target(s)!
Escort jobs require the party to accompany an NPC through a dungeon.
The NPC will take up one of the 4 total character slots in a piece, meaning that only a maximum of 3 player characters can be present and the NPC must be included in the submission!
Investigation jobs require the party to be looking for a specific person, place, landmark, or object. At times, these jobs may require a key to be used!
Submissions for these jobs must include hints towards or direct mentions/depictions of the subject of interest!
Rescue jobs require the party to delve into a dungeon and search for a specified NPC.
Submissions for these jobs must include the NPC(s) to be valid! These are different from Escort jobs in that the additional NPC(s) will not take up a party slot, allowing a maximum of 4 player characters to be present.
Retrieval jobs require the party to search for one or more specified items or treasures.
Submissions for these jobs must include hints towards or direct mentions/depictions of the group discovering the items of interest!
Special jobs are jobs that don't fall under any of the other categories! These ones will have objectives that are more unique than others as well as unique requirements! Be sure to check the Job Board post for full details!
