Hello explorers! Are you ready to begin your adventures out to sea?
The guild is working hard at discovering new sea routes to more islands and towns, even as we speak! As the GSCF explores and uncovers more in the vast ocean, our maps will continue to grow!
Well, what're you waiting for? The vast sea calls you!
There is also an interactive version of the map with the same information! It also includes information on the dungeons on each island, and can be used to search for recruits and/or discoverable items.
✦ The group's setting is fantasy / steampunk! The time-era for this group is set loosely around the 1800's but civilizations all over the globe exist at different levels of advancement!
✦ Members are free to make their own islands! You aren't restricted to playing on any canon islands and are absolutely free to build your own islands and towns with their own society and culture!
✦ Real animals exist in the world! In this universe, there are normal, real-life animals! For example, it wouldn't be a feral Yamper or Purrloin that someone would have as a pet but rather a normal dog or cat!
Nestled in the far Western Sea is a comfortable island known as Kala. Kala Island is the base of operations for the Global Communication Setup Foundation. This island is home to the port city of Ethovalon, a popular tourist destination for visitors and home to the guild itself. Beyond the cities and towns are lush, green fields full of flowers and streams cutting through the countryside. The island is typically warm year-round and many of the dungeons on the island are rather small, making it the perfect place for rookies and newcomers to start honing their craft as explorers and dungeon delvers!
🎵 Baram Town || Super Mystery Dungeon 🎵
Nearly two hundred years ago, the Port City of Ethovalon was established and brought sailors and merchants from Dutarus to sell their wares. It has a lighthouse, extensive docks, a basic marketplace, and a nice square. Steam and electricity powers the city, making it a popular tourist destination.
It is also home to the Global Communication Setup Foundation, or the GCSF for short. In the center of the square is the Bounty Office where people can claim their rewards for capturing outlaws or completing missions -- outside of the office is where the Bulletin Board is posted. Teams working for the GCSF should check it daily to see what missions are up for grabs. The mayor's office is nearby, as well as a small firehouse; a nurse's station; and a library, all of which give this small city a homey vibe. There's also a housing district just outside of the square where teams erect their bases for easy access to the town. It's small and quaint, but to the people of Ethovalon, it's home.
A rocky, craggy island to the south of Kala Island. In the center of this black hunk of earth is a giant active volcano. Luckily for what little residents reside on this island, the lava flow stays away from them. Speaking of residents, there is a massive marketplace in the city of Dutarus, at which merchants and sailors come from near and far to sell their wares. The people of Dutarus worship the volcanic deities that once lived in the volcano in ancient times. The traveling merchants Agni and Edan are said to be descendants of these deities.
Located due south of Kala Island is a rocky, volcanic region called Pele Island. Despite half of the island being uninhabitable due to volcanic eruptions and Mystery Dungeons cropping up, small towns and cities manage to thrive here. One such city being Dutarus. Dutarus is set at the edge of the ocean and has become a place of fame due to its marketplace. Merchants from all over come here to sell their wares, buy, trade, and barter with one another. There isn't much of a housing district here, as really the only defining feature of Dutarus is the marketplace. In fact, it's said that Agni and Edan who run the famous travelling shop had at one point in time lived on this island. The people of Dutarus and Pele Island in general worship a deity that they believe to cause eruptions from the volcano. If it's appeased then Dutarus will be spared an eruption. Rumor has it that Agni and Edan are the descendants of this deity. However, neither can confirm nor deny the speculations.
This island is covered in thick jungles and hanging vines everywhere you look. Once you’re off of the port, you’re already at the mercy of the dense jungles and what awaits you inside. Because of the inhospitable island, there are settlements and towns are virtually unheard of, and even a majority of the island's natives have largely moved elsewhere due to the harsh environs.
However, its hidden gems and treasures have been left behind. They can be yours for the taking -- if you can find them!
Located in the Sea of Beginning to the east of Pele Island, these Mountains formed after much erosion and eruptions alike. The mountains are placed above an active volcanic spring, a cold ocean current, and parts of the island are ravaged by the thunderstorms. It’s no understatement to call these mountains a strange place indeed. Stranger still, it has been said that four mirage Pokemon make this massive island their home.
Located in the Sea of Beginning, these islands are perpetually covered in ash raining down from the sky. The ash crosses the sea from Pele Island and lands directly on the islands, covering the trees and ground in white soot and ash. Despite the problematic ash, the townsfolk have learned to live with it. There is a port town here called Sanlow.
🎵 Murasaki Forest || MOTHER 3 🎵
Another port town that has quite the extensive marketplace. The only thing differentiating Sanlow from places like Allurian and Dutarus are the outrageous crime spikes in this area. Gang bosses and hitmen plague this area and as such it's not a good place to wander alone. The merchants are mouthy and aggressive, and if you're not willing to sell your first born, you're not getting anything worthwhile from them. The prices here are outrageous, the police force don't do their job, and as a result, criminals are able to wander freely. Crimes happen a lot within the city, so it's best to avoid this place at all costs. Honestly, the other towns on Ash Islands aren't all that better. The only peaceful place on the island is Beaver Hills, but it's not worth spending much time in this place.
Fairy Ring Isle is far to the south in the Sea of Beginning. This island has a peculiar shape, forming a lake in the center of the island. Mystical forests surround this lake with smaller lakes in said forests. There are no towns nor cities, which makes the island’s mystical quality even more enticing!
The Isle of Steam is a technologically advanced land to the east of the Ash Islands. This place is powered by steam and is way more advanced than plenty of islands in the vast sea. Trams, trains, and trolleys get you from place to place on the island, and even the dungeons here are quite technological, just like the island itself!
Allurian is the capital city of the island. Not only does most of the steam power come from Allurian, but the buildings are made out of brass as well! The folk here are very friendly, and will gladly give tours of their grand home!
🎵 Motostoke || Pokemon Sword & Shield 🎵
Probably one of the classier cities in the Great Sea, the Isle of Steam is home to many innovators, inventors, artisans, and crafty people and Allurian proves just how innovative and creative the people of the world can be. They may not have an extensive marketplace; but cute shops, fancy restaurants, giant forges, and plenty of schools litter the streets of this grand city.
Allurian is a city of complete engineering which has developed faster than any other place in the Great Ocean. Using the power of steam and cogwheels, the people who live here have brought about a glorious era of technology, providing its citizens with simple electricity, contraptions, and to some extent, even robotics and incredible inventions. If you're interested in taking up a craft, studying under a master, and bettering yourself; Allurian is the place to be!
(It's also a great place for romantic dates!)
🎵 Dragon Theme || The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 🎵
While there are no cities to this grand mountainous island, there are plenty of dungeons to explore here! There are ruined colosseums and crags just waiting to be explored! The snow-covered tops create a harsh environment, and the steep slopes make getting up there even more treacherous. If you can pinpoint the dungeons, you’re in for a world of treasure and amazement!
An island far to the north of the Sea of Beginning. While there are no towns or barely any dungeons on this tiny island, the sunny skies and the white beaches make it a lovely place to relax for a little while. Perhaps instead of exploring the island, you could take a load off and relax for a bit?
No? Well, exploring it is …
Freezing? Well you will be once you step foot on this island! Close to the Snow Continent, this island is perpetually covered in a thick layer of snow. It’s always snowing, hailing, or sleeting, so bring something to bundle up in! There are several dungeons scattered throughout this icy landscape just waiting to be explored! Just make sure you’re dressed warmly for the weather!
While out at sea, there’s bound to be some dungeons you see while sailing about! Take a good look around in the sky, the ocean, all around! You never know what might be waiting just out of reach! Better make sure you know how to get around out on the open seas!
The Spiral Archipelago is comprised of several islands that resemble a spiral pattern when viewed from above. Many fishermen and sailors come from this area of the sea looking for adventure or the sea’s bounty. Fishing towns and smaller cities line the shores of the various islands.
Most of the other islands that make up this area are off-limits to civilizans as dangerous Mystery Dungeons dominate the other islands. Between whirling waterspouts at the center of the archipelago and tsunamis wracking the northern islands, it is quite a different setting from the southern and eastern region. Inhabitants from Skull Island often send brigands to the western shores to plunder the villages there.
🎵 Castaway || Zac Brown Band 🎵
With all the natural disasters occurring to the north of the archipelago, you wouldn't think that this place would be near the same place, but it is! Portsmouth is, as you can guess from the name, a port town! It's streets consist of narrow waterways and docks and the whole are glistens with blue, shimmering waters and sandy beaches and palm trees.
Calling this area beautiful would be a total understatement. Despite Waterspout Waters being a several miles to the north, this area is teeming with life and is constantly sunny. Even when it rains, it always seem like the sun is shining down on the port town. Sailors make their home here as its the perfect place to both set sail from and meet up at. There are plenty of taverns and gondolas about, making it quite the relaxing vacation spot.
Located on the southernmost island of the archipelago, this bayside town is quaint and quiet with a refined atmosphere. The north end is home to a wealthier district and a Lighthouse looks down on the harbor from W'beek Pointe. It is a founding city for the Organization of Lighthouse Keepers, or The Keepers for short. The north end of town is also home to a lavish country club. To the south, the beaches become less rocky, but there are more tide pools where sea shells and other junk debris wash ashore. Commercial fishing is a strength of commerce in this town.
Skull Island resembles the skull of some unknown creature. They say that those who wash ashore are sailors that lost their way during harsh storms. The land reeks with the stench of rotting flesh and dirt, and the land seems utterly uninhabitable -- hostile even. It is hard to tell if there was once life in this place. There are ancient ruins of old buildings found very occasionally around the island but the eerie silence makes it clear that there are no inhabitants. And yet... glowing eyes can be seen sparkling in the rotting woods. There is nobody around, and yet it always feels like you're being watched.
Dare you venture forward? Or will you turn back while you can?
🎵 Quicksand Cave || Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky 🎵
It is extremely hot and dry in the Desert Region. On the western side of the island lays a dry savannah where plenty of Pokemon thrive. To the east of the island, a harsh desert where only the strongest survive. Wherever you decide to explore, best keep on your toes, and remember to bring some water with you!
Located near the ancient ruins of an era long past is a desert town that hides itself well. If travelers can make it through the desert unscathed, they'll be welcome by the sight of Sepsuthus.
🎵 Gerudo Town Theme || Breath of the Wild 🎵
Sepsuthus is a small town located somewhere in the desert that serves as a respite from the harsh environs. The buildings are made out of sandstone excavated from nearby caves. Because of the constant heat, doors and windows don't exist. Instead, fabric covers work as their doors. There is no law enforcement for this area, and instead the leader's word is absolute -- self-appointed rulers who claimed to be descendants of kings who lived in the nearby ruins ages ago. Whether or not the people in Sepsuthus believe it, their ruler does keep them safe.
Water flows through the sandstone town into pools and a fountain in the middle of the town, giving weary travelers a cool place to rest. Merchants come from the west of the Desert Region to sell acacia wood for buildings, scholars and archaeologists come from Allurian to study the ruins, and the citizens of Sepsuthus itself range from sketchy to absolute sweethearts. The inns in this town are lovely and the sleeping in the plush beds or soaking in the warm hot springs can make all tension flow away like the sands of the desert.
The Lanier Islands were once a thriving and wealthy area, torn apart within the past couple decades by drought, disease, and financial ruin. A mysterious force has been slowly spreading over the island for years now, turning areas once normal into dungeons and leaving behind remnants of what once was built.
The islands include the small, closely grouped islands including Rockdale, Bartow, and Pierce. Towns are small and run down with bars across their windows and locked doors. Dust storms regularly ravage the land's already ruined soil, sometimes uncovering remnants of crops and cattle long gone.
People hoard what little they have and are not keen on giving it away to strangers. These islands have become a rotting nest of thieves, pirates, outlaws, and cutthroats. The law is far and few between and even then it exists to serve itself. Attempting to make an honest living here is near impossible and well-meaning folk do not last long on the islands’ worn down streets these days.
Guard your wallet and your trust closely.
Or better yet, don’t visit.
🎵 Gunslinger's Glory || The Dead South 🎵
These three towns are often clumped together as there doesn't seem to be any defining characteristics to differentiate them all. The people who live here are always on edge, keep their doors locked, their windows barred, and those who try to make an honest living don't last long here. The islands are in financial ruin and industry is nigh impossible to establish as the duststorms leave agriculture largely impossible. Thieves and bandits have claimed these lands for themselves, and those who do live within the settlements don't have much going for them. It is best to avoid these towns as much as possible.
Disadattato Island has is shaped like a 'V', with three distinct divisions to the land. It is a bit odd but it fits the name at least! You may find that this island in particular has several completely different Pokemon and towns -- mismatched as if some misfit had rearranged it while the greater powers weren't looking.
The island itself suffers rapid weather changes and strange auras. Some rumors state that even legendary Pokemon roam about the place, changing the terrain whenever it strikes their mood. It seems upon first arriving you're greeted by a Sableye with tropical attire. He gives you a pamphlet and says this is the perfect place for retiring! (Especially since in one part of the island, dead people supposedly come back to life!)
🎵 Gelato Beach || Super Mario Sunshine 🎵
It doesn't have a name per se, but Ruben claims that it's the best place to cure what ails you! It may not be a place where common folk can live, but the people who do live here seem to be enjoying life at it's fullest. That said, the air seems a bit ... strange ... to say the least. But nothing can take away the fact that Disadattato Island is a place you will never want to leave!
Ruben assures you that retirement has never been so grand! Just make sure you don't leave and all will be well~!
Sailing northeast of Kumu Island, you noticed three large masses of land. Arriving at the shores, they seem mostly burdened with vegetation and don't look quite inhabitable. An ominous feeling emanates from this place. After some exploration, much of the islands almost resemble caverns with the way the dense canopy completely blocks out the sun at times. Jungles completely dominate the landscape, and it's difficult to find anyone.
Towards the center of the land however, after a long and arduous journey, you come across a most amazing sight. The Everlasting Gardens reside in the heart of the jungle, hidden from view. All manner of Pokemon call this place and its surroundings their home, making them one of the few safe havens amidst the otherwise hostile overgrowth.
Parella Island was once a tropical getaway and a lovely place to be. It was peaceful and undoubtedly once a popular location for vacationing. Those who have lived here for a long time recall beautiful shores, gorgeous landscapes, and plenty of flowers everywhere. After a particularly terrible storm ravaged the island however, it was deemed unsafe to continue business on the land. As such, nature was able to retake the island for itself and almost all of the industry was virtually wiped from the face of the land overnight.
This jagged island is a mysterious one with goblins, imps, and fairies alike! Maybe a unicorn or two! This island is supposedly home to a mythical Pokemon of legend which emerges from the a magical pond. The pond has magical qualities, seeming to disappear and reappear in different locations. Though colorful and hard to miss when you see it, it is hard to keep track of on account of the jungles and overgrown landscape.
There is a secret however: it will always have a cave with moonstones surrounding it.
...though the locals know this is all total baloney, and their pond is just broken. That said, the gossip has done wonders for the local tourism!
Far to the northeast of the Desolate Sea is a giant island full of maple trees of orange, red, and yellow hues. The mountains that line the area are covered in trees that always appear to be in a state of changing color. Although the waters surrounding the island are typically warm, there always seems to be a chill in the air. The air smells of decaying leaves, the wind blows with a slight chill, and yet the sun remains warm.
It would seem this island is perpetually stuck in the autumn season. There doesn’t seem to be any towns in the surrounding areas, but there is a big sign at the established docks that point to nature trails surrounding the dungeons!
The Ancient Tundra is an island known for its dislike of outsiders as much as it is known for its constant icy winters. This island is famous for the vikings and warriors it seems to produce. Entering this Island, you’re immediately greeted with cold temperatures and beautiful ice sculptures. Despite the beautiful scenery, something tells you that if you stay too long, you’re sure to find yourself in battle.
Sailing towards unseen land, you start to feel hungry. Something in the air compelled you to sail to the port where you are greeted with a small market town called Hershey. It is a small town, however, the market is booming with travelers who have come to try the delectable goodness of the food found on this island.
🎵 Sugar Rush || Wreck-It Ralph 🎵
The port town of the Sweetful Isles is a simple town with farm settlements around it that are used to grow all sorts of food, especially fruits and vegetables. The most popular place is a large market down the center of the town, where farmers and travelers set up markets to trade and sell their goods. There's a lot of small shops and taverns scattered around the town where locals and travelers go to have a nice time. At the end of the town is a large settlement of factories that are used for a lot of the food. A delicious aroma hangs around this town always.
🎵 Valak Mountain (Day) || Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition 🎵
The Snow Continent is one of the large continents to the east and the first island the GCSF was able to map out. Before you even reach the mainland, thick snow falls everywhere surrounding the land. There are two port cities that can be found here, each a wonderful and inviting place for travelers to rest their weary heads. While blizzards do oftentimes plague this area of the world, it doesn’t bother the locals all that much. It’s said sometimes that the snow that falls in this area resembles crystals. and glitter.
🎵 Freezington || Pokemon Sword and Shield 🎵
The first port town to the west is called Caister. This is the town most travelers from the warm seas see first. The town consists of warm buildings and plenty of docks for ships. There are taverns near the docks that plenty of sailors frequent, plenty of inns for weary travelers, and many community buildings to visit. The place gives off a warm and inviting feel despite the frigid temperatures.
🎵 Circhester || Pokemon Sword and Shield 🎵
The second town to the east is called Aria. In the center of Aria is a natural hot spring that wells up that many of the locals use to clear away their weariness. The town is rather artsy and those musically and artistically inclined tend to live here. Aria is definitely a place for the upper-class and, if you don’t mind the cold, it’s the perfect vacationing spot.
🎵 Skyloft || Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword 🎵
Located on the middle-north coast of the Snow Continent next to the Sweetful Isles, the kingdom of Apulia boasts an impressive trade port. While they dabble in a lot of goods, a lot of their trade and wealth comes from Sweetful. Much of their famously incredible food is imported through here! This kingdom is ruled by a King Lugia as well as his son, the crown prince, Desiderius.
Kingdom population and territory may be small but the town is very wealthy (a fact that's already abundantly clear the second you saw the place). The castle may be the most central and impressive structure but almost every building in the city appears polished and fine. There is a positively mammoth public library and a number of scholars are known to flock here for study in addition to merchants and ambassadors from other regions also visiting frequently.
People who make their living here work all sorts of jobs! Many are employed in the castle itself, others have businesses in town. The kingdom notably has high security funds and keeps many guards posted around the outer edges of town and around the castle specifically.
The Frozen Wastelands are four islands, Fuzzy Tundra makes the largest while the smaller three are much smaller and contain Pokemon of different typings that have adapted to the cold temperatures on the islands. It is pretty hard to adapt to the extreme cold temperatures here, so not a lot of things are built down here due to the harsh weather. However, there is one little town on the Fuzzy Tundra called Igloo. It's a small settlement with an everlasting campfire powered by thousands of fire stones.
Far to the south at the edge of the world, through snow, hail and ice, is an oasis of warmth.
Hot steam rises from the ground, clogging the air surrounding this island with a deep fog. It is a wild place, untamed with no standing towns and shifting sheets of ice, forming and melting away as quickly as they come. That is not to say there is not life on Orthys but rarely is it life there with much other choice of residence. For the exiled, the deserters, traitors, and hermits, the island’s currents pull in the lost and its deep fog and gentle promises of anonymity beckon them to stay.
If you are lost, if you are looking for something, or even someone - you may have come to the right place.
The second continent to the northeast that the GCSF reconnected with!
As one can guess, the Grass Continent is absolutely massive, and despite the name it was given, there are all kinds of vast terrain that cover the continent. From plains to forests, caves, and even scorching hot deserts; there is definitely a lot to see and do here!
Treasure Town is located on the Grass Continent, far to the northeast. It's a temperate land that has beautiful summers and chilly winters. Some of the famous landmarks in the area are Wigglytuff's Guild, Spinda's Cafe, and Sharpedo Bluff as well as the gorgeous beach where Krabby go to blow bubbles. If you visit, these landmarks are definitely a must! Even to this day, Wigglytuff's Guild is still churning out amazing exploration teams!
Capim Town is located more towards the south of the continent. It's a lush, beautiful port town full of sights to see and things to do! Several boats at the dock can take you to Lively Town on the Water Continent if you wish! The two places to check out here are Connection Cafe and The Hawlucha Slam School!
At the base of Sky Peak is a hidden village full of Shaymin! Their humble little town is a sort of base camp for any explorers looking to traverse the mountain. Gracidea Flowers bloom here at the base of the mountain and at the peak, making it the optimal place for the Shaymin to thrive! Maybe some of the Shaymin will even escort you up the mountain!
The Air Continent is a vast landscape of many different dungeons and terrain to behold! Just like the Grass Continent, there are several well-known landmarks and settlements here!
One of the more popular amongst tourists and adventurers is Pokemon Square! While it may seem like your average town, there is much more to see than one would think! Friend Camps, Whiscash Pond, and Makuhita Dojo are many of the attractions this place holds! Not only that, but the Pelipper Post Office is erected here. The Pelipper that work here fly all over the world delivering job offers and bulletins to towns and cities, Ethovalon included! The fabled Rescue Organization also makes its home at the Pelipper Post Office!
Baram Town is located to the south of the continent and is well known for its vast and enormous windmills! Much like Capim Town on the Grass Continent, Hawlucha’s Slam School and Cafe Connection are some of the highlights to this town! There are hotels and inns for travelers to relax and take a load off as well as many shops to be seen!
The mist continent is a large stretch of land that forms high into the north where large amounts of mist and snow encase the area!
One of the most notable places smack dab in the center of the continent is the famous Post Town! It may seem like a quiet and quaint little town, but it’s had its fair share of visitors over the years! Not only that, but Pokemon Paradise is just a short walk away! Stop at Signora’s Inn! Check out the Rainbows of Hope on clear days up on the hill! And take a stroll through Pokemon Paradise-- there are plenty of of stores and games to play for the weary traveler! Not only that, but the descendants of the Paradise’s original owners are still around and they’re more than willing to give you the grand tour!
Noe Town to the south is an architectural marvel! Stone structures, walls, and stairs (reminiscent to real-world coastal Greek towns) as far as the eye can see! The gentle and calming atmosphere is absolutely unrivaled to anywhere you’ve seen before! With a large fountain in the center, plenty of cafes and places to eat, this place is a perfect place to spend your day!
The Water Continent is home to sprawling fields full of rivers, lakes, ponds, and magnificent beaches!
Lively Town is home to the world-famous Expedition Society, which stopped the complete destruction of the world several centuries ago. Ran by Winifred, the Expedition Society has helped The Water Continent maintain lasting peace on its shores. Come on and stop by Lively Town and see the sights!
Serene Village is to the west and home to a quaint town of characters. The most notable of locations is the haunted Ancient Barrow to the south, and the school to the north! The children of Serene Village partake in lessons at the school, ranging from day to day skills and how to venture through dungeons! Perhaps you’d also like to stop by the giant tree on the hill!
It’s said that two members of the Expedition Society made a vow to always be by each other’s side at that very hill!
Aside from Sahra Town, there’s nothing but wilderness in the Sand Continent. Speaking of which...
All dungeons on the Sand Continent are high tier dungeons. Only those truly seeking the thrill should test their strength here! Don’t overdo yourself, but don’t let your worries hold you back. Go forth and explore the dungeons buried in time!
This beautiful town is home to many merchants who come to sell their wares to explorers who wish to indulge in adventure! Several inns and taverns line the shops for the weary travelers who wish to come and explore this dangerous land.
🎵 Resilience of the Expedition Society || Super Mystery Dungeon 🎵
The edges of the map are filling in quickly and the Sea of Wonders is one of the last great hurdles!
Who knows what kind of adventures await you and your teams in this section of the ocean? Much like the Sand Continent, this area is the true test of strength for exploration teams! There are some dungeons that seem like tropical getaways, all the way to the most difficult of dungeons laid before you! All your training and exploration has led to this moment!
Go forth with courage!
The GCSF’s landing point on the floating islands! After breaking through a mirage-like cloud barrier, you are greeted by the sight of an archipelago of small, floating islands. Under many of those islands is an ocean in the sky – perhaps that explains some of the areas on the surface that always seem to rain, no matter what season. Looking closely, there are even island-like reef structures within the deceptively shallow sky’s ocean.
In the distance, you can spot glimpses of other islands through more cloud walls… something about them, however, feels off. Ancient, undisturbed, and even from this distance… you know now you tread on unsafe ground.
Hold on to that apprehension. The archipelago dubbed “Cloud Breach” is deceptively idyllic and might lull you into a false sense of security! Nonetheless, it is here Mary established your base of operations in the sky. At least this region is a safe place to build a makeshift city for the GCSF! Feel free to explore the various islands that it has to offer before you travel further!
A country that spans over a few islands that float within the clouds. Each island seems to hold a different climate to accommodate to those who live within. From Dense, decaying forests to Mountains covered in snow. These Isles are both just as interesting as they are dangerous! Despite the terrain’s threats…at least the locals are known to be friendly. Maybe too friendly.
The first Island, The Black Marsh, seems to be mostly swamplands, with deep murky waters surrounding the place. The Dire Docks is a local stop on the island with special ships to sail through the thick waters. The locals all seem to be stand off-ish unlike most from the Behemoth isles. They all bare weapons, and while they may not say anything to be disturbing, they certainly appear that way!
They do not require payment to gain passageway through their docks, they simply just warn travelers to move quick and keep a sharp eye out for anything that moves about in the black water.
A manor that sits at the edge of the dark woods that surround Behemoth’s Isle’s second Island, Crimson Woods. The manor itself is incredibly large and well kept, despite the gossip that float around about the family that lives there. In fact, no one truly sees them outside of the owner, who simply refers to herself as Nyx Nightmare. It’s believed that the family that once resided there had perished, leaving Nyx, a former Maid, to hold up the Manor herself.
Many conspiracies claim that Nyx took care of the family herself for her own gain, but there isn’t any evidence that proves that to be true. Legend says that if you approach the manor, Nyx will happily beckon you inside, with the rule that you remove any silver items on your person due to Nyx’s severe allergy to the metal.
Those who enter, may never return quite the same…
A village just south of the Blackwood Manor. A quaint little town filled with people who have a firm believe of superstitions. Even going above and beyond by hanging Garlic on their doors, keeping Silver on them at all times, and burning sage to warn off any evil spirits that might be lurking in their nearby woods.
Despite their superstitious behavior, they are welcoming to outsiders as long as you can get passed their oddly paranoid beliefs that is.
The final island that floats in the north of Behemoth Isles. Deepfoot Highlands is a island decorated with mountain ranges that spread far and wide. Snow blankets the lands, only seeming to show some greenery near the base of the mountains during the warmer months. At the very base of Mt. Lyca lies Deepfoot Highlands most known village!
A village filled with friendly faces, who are more than welcoming to any visitors of their vast mountain ranges. They don’t get visitors often, anyway! The only time the people of this village seem to push away outsiders seems to both depend on the state of the moon’s cycle and if the outsiders themselves wish to climb Mt. Lyca. They say that a wild beast with a humanoid form lurks within the caves, and that such a place should not be trusted!
Despite saying such things, you get the feeling there’s something off about these friendly villagers themselves...
A system of tunnels within the mountainside that beloned to an ancient civilization that lived on the mountains prior to their current settlers. The tunnels themselves are hardly functioning and are practically catacombs with the amount of deceased they store. Despite this, venturing inside, visitors have stated to have seen people stirring about as if they were no longer long gone from this world. Nor had they been ghost types. Further investigation from the locals police force seemed to show no sign of life. The investigation was closed and the tunnels blocked off.
Groans within can be heard, they seem to be calling for people to come inside. Even if they can only be heard in the dead of night. Perhaps its just someone playing tricks inside…right? Or is someone actually stuck in there?
Flying to these islands was a trip in and of itself. Upon breaching the isles, what appears to be a night sky envelops the ships. It may look to be a relief but, the view up ahead would take the breath out of anyone’s lungs. Small, mountainous, floating islands were scattered everywhere. Little bits of foliage were bathed in the colors of fleeting twilight. It sure was windy for an archipelago, though, but the iridescent lenticular clouds may help explain things!
However, all of this dulled in comparison to the main islands. Glowing, vanilla twilight waterfalls cascaded down furiously. The cascades were pouring into streams and, inevitably, the anvil head of a massive cumulonimbus cloud below. The biggest of the islands holds what appears to be a prosperous city within a confluence. A dock at its most southward point seems to be where the stop is!
The one and only huge settlement within the Starry Cascada Islands. It seems to be doing quite well as the residents greet any newcomers/tourists with joy. Between inventors, merchants, and everyone in between, there were items tourists from the land had never seen in their lives! Outside of its bustling marketplace, there were buildings that pierced the sky, gardens with exotic crops, and recreational activities. Towards the edges of the city are bridges that take travellers out to nearby islands. There are warnings that other islands are not as… hospitable as the main one, especially so the further out they go. Will you brave the dangers? Be sure to stock up at least!
For those with keen ears, storytellers and bards tell tales of how Starfallen City had come to be…
The story tells of the islands long ago. It was once a large, singular island. Lush forests, bright skies, it was a paradise without any of the magic! A paradise that wasn’t meant to last. It was said that a star had fallen onto this once large island, breaking it apart, scattering its foliage, ruining the very image it had… until the star’s magic dispersed amongst it all. The waterfalls started to glow and trickle with starlight, the skies had become a perpetual night, and the remaining scenery had adapted in kind. Since then, the descendants of the disaster have rebuilt and made the islands anew and beautiful once more.

Even through the thick layers of clouds, one can occasionally get a glint from something shimmering in the sun. As the clouds part, a breathtaking island manifests - huge crystals protrude from its underside and even among the mass of deep foliage that covers the majority of the island. Speaking of the thick forest, the hues are far from the typical green seen in most other places. The majority of the foliage appears to be hues of purple, though pink, yellow, blue and green can be seen around. There’s just something beautiful yet mysterious about the forests, as if one could get lost in them
After docking in Three Lagoons Bay, the southern portion of the island seems easiest to access, which allows for a closer inspection of the island at large. The forest is thick, and the trees are tall and strong. There are areas that the sun doesn’t seem to penetrate through to the ground often. Mushrooms and flowers dot the trails, and a variety of interesting plants seem to make their homes here. Some even glow, giving off light in areas that wouldn’t have much, if any. Atop all of that, it’s noticeable just how much of the island make-up is crystals. Some crystals are overgrown and others stick out of trees. Strangely, some trees even seem to be crystal themselves… or encased in crystal. There are trees with crystal growths, and twinkling leaves.
Amongst all of this, though, can be found ruins. Some are simple, but others are intricate, and suggest a great culture once lived on this island. An eerie feeling creeps in - what happened to this place?
Settled sheltered by the cliffs, near the waterfall, this town is the largest on the island. Its population seems hospitable and kind. They have all the modern amenities one would want, and a fairly bustling market to acquire goods - including some very interesting crystal goods. Art is everywhere - carved into the cliffs, painted on walls, and set into the stone below one’s feet. Even the buildings seem to flow together and seem almost organic, with very few hard edges or corners that may be more common in other places. There is even a museum, dedicated to housing art both new and old. The town does its best to keep many of its local ancient builds, but the town is no stranger to the many ruins that scatter the isle.
Unfortunately, their history has been muddled by time and so a lot of what you hear may differ. Though one thing is clear: They all talk of a great cataclysm.
Glint Crest is a mining town build among the upheaved land of the Shattered Void. While some of the buildings are built above ground, much of the city seems to wind in and out of the cliffs and the ground beneath. Glint Crest is highly industrialized, a stark contrast to the Three Lagoons Village. The people here work hard and are unafraid of anything - be it a mystery dungeon or a cave-in. They’ve made their mark on this land, and they’ll be damned if anything gets in their way. The people here can be a little bit brash but straightforward.
They say that Oracle’s Summit sits up above - a Legendary Dungeon worth visiting if you’re willing to brave the deadly path to the dungeon itself.
The third major habitation of the island, though very few can actually tell you where it’s at. Most say the southern peak of the island, yet people have gone to find it to no avail. The reason being that the village is no longer connected to the island mainland - floating on a separated chunk of land, often hidden in clouds. There are ways to reach it, if you know what you’re doing, though.
The people here are wary of outsiders, and protect the completely crystallized tree at the center of their village with tenacity. The village houses a large library and the information you may get about the cataclysm here could be more reliable than any of the other locations on the island. The Village’s Elder, an aging Diancie, may be more willing to talk with the Guild if they prove themselves trustworthy.
The Three Lagoons Bay is the safest play to dock on the Isle, and it is one of the few areas of the island not covered in thick foliage or giant crystals. The bright sand, however, still seems to twinkle here and there - perhaps even the sand has crystal shards in it? The largest settlement on the island is also located here. The area is prone to fog, but otherwise seems to avoid strong storms thanks to the cliffs that help the area stay isolated. Legend from the locals say that once upon a time the Lagoons were part of an ancient sea that came right up to the base of the cliffs.
If there is one part of the island that is as easily noticeable as the Three Lagoons Bay, it’s the Shattered Void. The northern part of the island is an absolute mess. A massive cataclysm clearly severed this part of the island from another large landmass at one point. The foothills have been heaved about, creating a steep and dangerous terrain that still remains fairly devoid of life - little can take root here. The land is also littered with shattered crystal spikes, stuck out of the ground like stakes. One wrong step, and it’s very possible that you could find a gruesome end.
Despite the environment, there is life here. The Shattered Void hosts a village of intrepid miners, who mine both the crystals and rock. The village also abuts against a dungeon that is full of the massive crystals, offering a peek at what the depths of the islands hidden underground may be like.
This island comprises one major island with several archipelago-like offshoots. Large green mountains touch the sky as fog and clouds swirl at their peaks. Dense forests cover most of the land, and waterfalls cascade water to the world below. Villages are hidden within the foliage and if discovered are beyond imaginable!
Its very image is ethereal -- the very essence of beauty!
Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, this is what the once Ruined City became almost overnight. Now it is a bustling city full of traders, merchants, shopkeepers and seekers alike! Everyone living here looks up to the Gods of Ruin and pays them respect-- mostly out of fear for what happened to their ancestors. Four Temples have been devoted to each of the Ruinous Four, each in one corner of the city. Citizens visit these temples daily.
Because of their greed, fear, hatred, and grudges the people of the Land of Mists had, their once beautiful city had been destroyed by creatures they called the Gods of Ruin. No one in the present day has ever seen these creatures, but they can be seen on detailed paintings throughout the Ruined City. Buildings have been scorched, crumbled, and wasted away to nearly nothing. The ancestors of the people of Phoenix City had long been such proud people … but those feelings were shattered in an instant.
It’s hard for anyone to live here among the rubble and decay, and yet some still choose to live on the outskirts.
Being here too long makes you feel … sad, angry, and fearful. Almost like the Gods of Ruin have their eyes on you.
Though part of this area is a dungeon meant for training your body and mind, the rest is a secluded place for people to train in this area's way. The clan nearest the Clouded Sanctuary will gladly take in disciples to learn from the best!

Though part of Heaven's Gate is a dungeon, the rest of the city is for only the finest and wealthiest in the Land of Mists! To retire here is to feel nothing but luxury for the rest of your days!

The airship brings you into view of a massive island; the trees twist and wind so tightly that, from afar, one might think there’s no land to tread. Upon landing on a sheer cliff, however, you discover a small break in the thicket, allowing you passage onto the island.
Thorns reach out at you from every angle, and you must walk with care not to tumble upon the roots and into the trees’ maws. Silence, unwelcoming and cold, replaces the faint whispers of the leaves – this place, you know, reeks of death and destruction. All senses but sight could tell you as much, and yet, you continue forward.
If not for the small village that greets you, it would appear that this island is all but abandoned. The only remaining denizens are a small colony of Charcadet – all forgotten to the world that they, too, have forgotten since the quiet took hold.
Hardly a bastion anymore and more so a simple home to those trapped upon the island, the Charcadet living within the stone buildings still regard it with pride. They say that, as the only place to not fall victim to the “curse” that befell the rest of the island, it is blessed by Xerneas and Arceus both to keep them safe. One might even consider the town comfortable, if not for all the dangers that loom upon its borders – but the people are steadfast, and they take every day in stride.
The residents are proud of their history and, even if they have forgotten much of the ancient stories, they will gladly recollect tales of their once great civilization. Though, they are just as quick to warn you to leave the same way you came and not venture further.
Small flowers bloom upon the village’s lawn. They glow in the night, offering a stellar scene to replace the night sky blocked out by the forest’s canopies.
