🍀 PURITY FOREST SUMMARY 🍀

At the behest of the Expedition Society, led by Winifred, the GSCF embarked on a mission into Purity Forest! Upon entering, the guild members faced traps, wild encounters, and about everything anyone might expect. They met a Friendly Arcanine, a Pair of Merchants, Hidden Passages, Lots of Locals, Secret Doors, the Occasional Bandit - all standard fare for a Mystery Dungeon.

What wasn’t expected, however, was a Raging Salamence on the final floor. Seething with rage and absolute terror, she appeared entirely out of control and sought to tear through the entire floor. Luckily, she seemed to finally calm down after the GSCF managed to successfully get her to the final floor where the Guardian of Purity Forest, Celebi, was able to help purify whatever had afflicted her. [ 🔓 Majority Ending | Most players took this route! ]

Winnifred and the Expedition Society were impressed with the work of the GSCF and have Allied with you! You’ve still no answer to what caused Salamence to go berserk like she did but you know the forest’s purifying qualities seem to have helped snap her out of her destructive rage. Upon questioning, you’ve discerned that she had been to the Spiral Archipelago and that her state may be connected with the happenings there... [ 🔓 ]

But, oh…? That’s not the end of it!

After everyone came back with their information and the guild began to mull over what to do next, a voice chimed out. Soothing, yet peppy, it’s the voice of the guardian of Purity Forest, familiar to many who ventured through her forest! A brilliant glow illuminated the room and the silhouette of a Pokémon appeared. A pink, fairy-like person. She seems happy to see you all!

"Greetings, explorers! To see you all conquer Purity Forest -- it makes me happy! It was so great to have visitors again!" She bowed to everyone, "My name is Haruki. After my dear Grovyle passed, I spent years travelling through time. But the forest felt so different here and, seeing all that’s happened, I’ve come to stop now in this time."

The antennae atop her head twitched slightly as she glanced around. "It goes without saying, but something is amiss. I know not what the trouble is, but the sinister force taking hold of Pokemon is not natural."

She gave a smile, "The adventurous exploits of the GCSF and Expedition Society are immeasurable! I would be honored to be an ally to your foundations. Let us hope this storm passes without trouble."

[ 🔓 Allied Guardian Ending | The GSCF collectively impressed the Guardian of Purity Forest with their skill, compassion, and perseverance within the dungeon and she has Allied with the guild. Moving forward, Haruki the Celebi has promised to lend aid to the GSCF in stopping whatever has been driving Pokemon mad! She’s no regular Celebi and is, in fact, a Pokemon of legend - the Guardian of Purity Forest is on our side! ]

What Next?

Between Kaimana’s radio silence and the out-of-control Salamence’s recent visit to the Spiral Archipelago where Kaimana was headed, plus the unnaturally raging storms occurring there, it’s safe to say that something strange is brewing there.

For now, the guild is encouraging you to go check it out, see if you can find any clues…

Just be careful, we don’t know what’s happening out there.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES OUTLINE

> Click here to view the [ redacted ] Event Outline going into the event!

This is the REDACTED™ (Any story spoilers have been totally nuked out) version of the full outline that I’d had going into this event!!!

EVENT NOTES!

*You can see the original event pitch doc was much more rigid in format - die rolls were the full determinant for results at every turn! BUT, as the event started, I ended up scrapping a lot of what I had here!

This was both because I found that die rolls alone made text matter a lot less so I adjusted rooms and results from their standard beta versions on the fly to switch to full custom text format for every room and turn that would take the player’s text choices as the main factor for results in every room with dice rolls being supplementary and less punishing because I felt it was unfair in some situations if the text was extremely creative/innovative and had good solutions to a problem but the die was just low

*I also lessened a lot of the buffs I gave NPC’s because holy smokes

*You can also see that a lot of the end is missing/not as detailed as the beginning rooms tight formulas/copy pastes - I was working on this bastard up to the start of the event and it was quickly apparent in the first few days that that almost every room would be taking its own unique path and there was no way I could keep up with fully pre-predicting every action of all players and that’s when I started taking the more loose, non-formulaic approach and stopped fleshing out strict options on the outline!
