Throughout your time with the GCSF, there will undoubtedly be plenty of work to be done even outside of the missions and typical job board escapades. Some of this work may involve getting your own team acclimated to their new surroundings, helping the regulars of Ethovalon and the GCSF's many allies, or maybe even just working on yourself for a little while!
Tasks are prompts with no deadlines, meaning they are always available to complete! Many will provide a small bonus for those looking to make some extra Poké, while others may reward items that cannot be obtained anywhere else!
The list will be updated periodically, so be sure to keep an eye on the #updates channel for when new tasks are added!
Tasks are prompts that must be completed in humanoid / gijinka form*. Many are available to complete at any time with no deadline and provide rewards -- some of which are unique and only obtainable through completing a task!
* unless otherwise stated -- some tasks can take place in dungeons!
Tasks are typically leisurely, casual activities for members to participate in. They may be odd-jobs or errands the characters are running for the guild, they may be prompts that involve a glimpse into the character's life, or -- on occasion -- tasks may tie into the plot at large and put characters into higher-stakes situations! There are also tasks that serve to facilitate a character's personal plot or arc, with rewards that are only obtainable through completing specific ones!
Tasks are almost always completed in gijinka / humanoid form only. However, a task may very rarely include a dungeon so be sure to keep an eye on the requirements for a given prompt!
For the tasks that specify that you must complete it in a dungeon (or that allow the option to complete it in a dungeon), there are a few important steps to remember about the submission process.
1 || You must first submit the piece to the Dungeon Grader!
In order to claim your regular dungeon rewards (i.e. Poké, a recruit, etc.), you must submit the piece to the Dungeon Grader. This has to be done before you try to claim the Task rewards.
2 || Secondly, submit the piece to the Guild Life Grader!
Where it asks "Was this piece previously submitted and given Poké?", you have to check the box to indicate that you've already received your Poké rewards!
To relieve our graders of any burden of having to edit your earnings afterwards, please remember to do this!
3 || Check that you are able to claim the rewards from the task!
Where it asks "Is this user able to claim rewards from this task?" for your team(s), only check the box if you are still able to claim the rewards!
If you've done the task and claimed the rewards more times than is allowed, the item(s) and/or Poké will not be added to your inventory!
General Tasks
General Tasks feature generic prompts and do not tend to serve a larger story. They're aligned with everyday odd-jobs or errands that your character undertakes as part of their day-to-day activities!
This is a good place for new members to start if they want to get their foot in the door with creating content for the group!
If you're a fresh face, check out Your First Outing and try exploring your first dungeon! It provides a bonus that'll help you get started on your team-building journey!
Personal Story Tasks
Personal Story Tasks are prompts that award unique items that cannot be obtained elsewhere!
Often, completing one of these tasks will be a prerequisite for undergoing specific story arcs related to some of the group's customization options such as the Vials.
If you want your character to have the Shadow Sickness, be cursed in some way, or be a living construct, you'll want to check these out!
NPC Tasks
NPC Tasks are prompts that feature the group's various non-player characters; including guild leaders, allies of the GCSF, Ethovalon regulars, and more!
These prompts are here to allow members to acclimate themselves with the characters who will frequently appear in overarching story content, and to understand their role in getting the GCSF to where it is today!
Event Tasks
There are also Event Tasks that may appear as a part of a larger ongoing event such as Holiday Hills or something akin to BINGO!
These tasks will have a deadline, ending at the same time as the event they are involved in. While some may make a return depending on what the theme of the event is, these will likely be unique only to those specific instances and only very rarely return!
Every task has a collapsible section that contains all the specifics of what is required for the submission. In most cases, there is a minimum amount of effort that must go into a piece of work for a task.
✦ PROMPT || This section is the overall idea of what should be shown in the submission in terms of "telling a story". If your submission does not relate to the prompt, it will not be counted towards the completion of the task!
✦ REQUIREMENTS || This section will tell you what the technical requirements are for your submission. See Minimum Requirements below for full details!
✦ REWARDS || This section tells you what you will gain for completing the task! The text beneath the reward itself will indicate how many times you may claim said reward on a single team. Some task rewards may only be claimed once per team ever while others will allow you to complete it 2-3 times before you can no longer claim the reward.
Being ineligible to claim a task's reward does not prevent you from completing it again! Just be sure to mark that the team is unable to claim the rewards from the task again.
Task submissions typically have a minimum technical requirement to be able to count towards rewards. These are the general requirements, but some tasks may have different requirements involving their specific prompts. Be sure to check the Task Details for each task to find all the information on what is required for your submissions!
If your submission does not meet these requirements, it will not be counted towards the completion of the task for the item rewards and the grading of your piece may be adjusted accordingly.
The typical minimum requirements are as follows:
✦ Meme Template: Minimum 1 full-body character, lined with flat colors OR a clean colored sketch
✦ Art: Minimum 1 half-body character, lined with flat colors OR a clean colored sketch, simple background
✦ Writing: Minimum 800 words
