How to Join

START HERE: Join as a Tourist

Firstly, Discord is required to participate in the group. By default, you will be assigned the Tourist role, which allows you limited access to the server's channels.

PMD Beyond the Sea is a closed group that occasionally opens for new members, and openings are always announced on the server. The first steps to creating your characters and team are also exclusively handled in the server as well, so be sure you've joined if you're interested in joining as a member!

As a Tourist, you must post in #introductions using the pinned form before you can get your first character rolls in #pokemon-rolls. After that, you can get started working on your application(s) for your join request.

➤ Becoming a Team Member

There are two ways to gain the opportunity to join as a full member:

Method A: Openings & Flash Openings

Full openings typically last between 2-3 weeks at the start of a month, with the remaining few weeks in the month dedicated to processing applications. At times, we may restrict how many join requests we will take to avoid overwhelming our mods -- this depends on how many Tourists are currently active and waiting to join in.

Flash openings follow the same procedures as full openings, but will only last for 24 - 48 hours. The same possible restrictions on how many people we accept applies here as well. However, these are more likely to happen throughout the year

Method B: Recommendation by a Current Member

Current members may recommend a friend to the mods, allowing them to bypass the group's closed status and submit a join request when they choose. Recommendations can be handled via #submit-a-ticket or in #questions, as long as the username of the joining person is stated.

Here is how the process works:

✦ The person recommending a new member must have been in the group for at least 3 months. After recommending someone, you will have to wait another 3 months before you can recommend somebody else.

✦ For the person being recommended, all you need to do is to prepare your application and join request details and to submit a request via #submit-a-ticket when you're ready.

✦ Both the person recommending and the person being recommended must be in the Discord at the time of recommending and joining.

✦ Recommended accounts still need to follow the required account age rules detailed in the Rules.

✅ ...made sure the group is currently open or that you've been recommended by an existing member?

✅ ...read through all the rules of the group?

✅ ...checked that your designs will be accepted in the #design-check channel?

✅ ...prepared your visual and written applications according to the Character Creation rules?

✅ ...ensured you understand the process of submitting work to the group?

If you are certain you've completed all of the above, then you can proceed to the next steps!

Required Entry Form & Questions

Join requests must be sent through the correct ticket via the #submit-a-ticket channel in the Discord!

You must attach the following form, fully filled out for us to consider your application -- this goes for previous members who may be rejoining as well!

Link to Partner's App: [ This is only for those who are on a Team with a Friend! Don't worry if your partner hasn't completed their app yet, you can still submit yours, just mention they're working on it! ]

When all is said and done, if your application checks out alright, you're in! If there's something that needs changing with your app, we'll discuss it with you and give you a chance to fix it! However, if you answer any of the questions incorrectly, we will only give up to 3 attempts to fix your answers Past that, we will ask that you resubmit your application once you are more confident in your answers!
