MATERIALS:
A tall, slim can like the one for Pringles
Drawings of trains (Avance will provide)
Plain paper, preferably light blue
Scissors
Adhesive tape
Beans or rice
Introduction:
A toy that provides auditory stimulation will also capture your child's interest and encourage him to keep reaching out and moving toward him, thereby developing his motor skills. It will also allow you to develop cognitive and social skills when taking turns.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash, dry the can and put the rice in, cover and seal with adhesive tape.
Trace 1 square on the butcher paper, measuring the height and length with the can to cover it completely and cut out.
Trace the bottom of the can on the butcher paper (2 circles) leaving 1 inch wide and cut out.
Line the top and bottom of the can with the butcher paper circles, taping them together.
Draw on the butcher paper the rails of a train with a marker or color of your choice and line the can.
Color and cut out the pictures of the train
Stick the 4 trains in our can: one in each circle and two in the body of the can, above the rails.
Line the can with clear tape lengthwise until completely covered.
