Everywhere she goes she gets clients.
Each one tells her about her beautiful work.
With a lovely smile, comes at the end.
Tells her the story to her beautiful best friend.
She walked with me.
Hand-in-hand sharing my journey.
Through the heights and depths of my life.
And I call her my partner in crime.
But all I am is a woman.
All I am is my woman.
Not the one I should be, could be, would be.
Not so much more, too much like, or nearly so.
What inspired me to write this poem was how my best friend was with me through my whole journey of my small business, how she would literally tell any girl to come to me. She also gave me the strength to start my business and to lose all my shyness. In my writing process I had to think of all the things I went through to be the person I am now and how successful I've been so far.
