It's a routine, the sun rises and sets
it doesn't change
‘’The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.’’
Fresh air, I hear the wind through my window
Leaves falling down
Their colors are orange, red, brown, and yellow.
Waiting is all we do, wait and wait and wait
the light at the end of the tunnel seems impossible
But we remember what the scripture says
“I am the light of the world.’’
Flowers start to bloom, the sun comes out
Fresh air, pollen starts to kick in
life is beautiful again
life was always beautiful
our eyes were just shut down.
I wrote this poem for a discussion post. When I started writing it my main focus was to point out how we as humans think we have to do everything in a rush and not slow down and appreciate how beautiful life is without those moments that make us give up. I wanted to explore the theme of time because I think that time is one of the things that we forget about and don’t realize how valuable it is. There are so many distractions, and instead of doing those things, we should do what will make us happy and better people.
"I really liked this poem. I liked how it was put into questions, it made me feel like I knew the author from a deeper perspective. The format of the poem made me also wonder about these things with the author since I felt like answering in my mind."

"I really like the way you ended the poem because I never thought of it that way. The phrase life was always beautiful, our eyes were shut down" was just amazing."
