As I turn off my very annoying alarm that is set for 6:00am, I get up and stare for a moment at the wall just to realize that the room's temperature feels a bit more cold than usual but I try not to think of it and just proceed to get out of bed. I got up to get dressed; looking down at my bin of washed clothes that I had just washed the day before still not folded and decided to go with the first top that I see; I walk forward to my sweaters and think to myself “do I really need one today?” but in the end I choose not to wear one due to the weather always being around the 70’s. Once I got dressed I got my backpack and proceeded to go get in the car; as I opened the door I felt a really cold breeze hit my whole body, making my whole body get chills; A few more seconds passed by and I came to the realization that it was really really cold but how cold was it? I walked back in the house to check the weather, I pulled my phone out , unlocked it, went to the weather app, and saw that it was 40 degrees outside and then I realized I indeed needed to bring a sweater with me today and maybe for the following days.
In my story I am exploring the theme of always carrying the things you think you might not need or in other words being prepared for the unexpected. What inspired me to write this story was the fact that I made the mistake of not getting a sweater, not knowing that it was going to be freezing outside, which made me not be prepared for the weather. My writing process was pretty quick because I already had an idea of what I wanted to write about and it was mostly just putting it together and finding the right words to use that made it a bit difficult.
