57:1
For the choirmaster
Do not spoil.
Of David.
A Miktam
When he fled from the face of Saul in a cave.
57:2
Be gracious to me, O God.
Be gracious to me, for in you my soul takes refuge.
And in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge until he passes by destructions/chasms.
57:3
I will call to God Most High
To God accomplishing [hesed?: Psalm 138:8] over me.
57:4
He sends/stretches from heaven
And he saves me
He reproaches one crushing me.
Selah.
God sends/stretches out his covenant faithfulness and his truth.
57:5
My soul is in the midst of the lion
I lie down to burning sons of Adam
Their teeth are a spear and arrows,
And their tongues are a sharp sword.
57:6
Be high upon the heavens O God,
Over all the earth is your glory.
57:7
They prepare a net for my footstep,
My life bends down.
They dig a pit before my face
The fall in the middle of it.
Selah.
57:8
Establisher of my heart is God
Establisher of my heart
I will sing and I will make music.
57:9
Rise up, my glory.
Rise up, lyre and harp
I will rouse the dawn.
57:10
I praise you among the peoples, My Lord
I make music to you, not [rather than] the ethnic groups.
57:11
For great unto the heavens is your covenant faithfulness,
And unto the clouds is your truth.
