138:2
I will thank you with my whole heart
In front of God I will make music to you.
I will bow down to the palace of your holiness
And I thank your name on account of your covenant faithfulness
And on account of your reliability,
For you have made great/enlarged all your name/reputation of your utterance.
138:3
On the day I called, and you answered,
You confused/alarmed my soul strength
138:4
All the kings of the earth thank you, Yahweh,
For they heard sayings of your mouth.
138:5
And they sing with the words of Yahweh,
For great is the glory of Yahweh.
138:6
For Yahweh is high, and he sees low, and higher than a distance he knows.
138:7
If I walk in the midst of a foe, you cause me to live on account of the anger of my enemy,
You send your hand
And you save me with your right hand.
138:8
Yahweh, you complete on behalf of my,
Yahweh, your covenant faithfulness is forever.
May the works of your hands not slacken.

and they will sing of the ways of Yahweh,

Though Yahweh [is] exalted, he also sees [the] lowly;
and the haughty he knows from afar.
138:7
If I walk in the midst of a foe,
you cause me to live
against the anger of my enemies you stretch out your hand
and you save me [with] your right hand.
138:8
Yahweh will fulfill [his purposes] which concern me,
Yahweh, your covenant faithfulness is forever.
Do not give up on the works [pl] of your hands.

DAVID’S FORECAST OF PRAISE FROM THE NATIONS (v. 4)
[David (in forecast or actuality) brings the kings of the earth to Yahweh. He is acting as a priest and mediator. Cf. Psalm 110, the Davidic priest-king. Psalm 2 sought this. ]
