16:1
An inscription belonging to David.
Guard me, O God, for I seek refuge in you.
16:2
You (fs) say to Yahweh, “You are my Lord”
My good is not above you. [I have nothing better than you]
16:3
To the holy ones who are in the land,
They, even they, are majestic ones, in them [is] all my delight in them.
16:4
Their injuries, they are many, they run after/buy another
I do not pour out their drink offerings from [of? Because of] blood,
And I do not lift up their name upon my lips.
16:5
Yahweh is the portion of my territory
You are my cup supporting my allotment.
16:6
Boundaries have fallen to me in pleasant places.
Even inheritance, it is beautiful for me.
16:7
I bless Yahweh who counsels me
Even at night he chastens me, my kidneys.
16:8
I set Yahweh in front of me continually,
For by reason of my right hand I will not totter.
16:9
For this reason my heart rejoices,
And my heaviness rejoices,
Indeed, my flesh settles in security.
16:10
For you will not leave my life to Sheol,
You will not give your faithful one to see a pit.
16:11
You cause me to know a path to life.
Fullness of rejoicing is with your face,
Delights in your right hand forever.
