First 15 minutes: Tangohia ō hū. School Karakia. Read this term's plan: Mahere Akoranga, which explains how our lessons will be structured this term. In pairs, or groups of three, have a conversation about Te Kūri a Kupe picture, using the sentences and language you already know. Use the examples if you need to, or if it is too challenging start with this image instead. If you are able to discuss the image without any prompts, do not use the prompts. Aim for fluency. If all of that is too tricky, start with Tamariki or Makawe Kōura. I suggest that: Every 5 minutes switch groups, and share your learning so you can learn from each other.
Spend the next 15 minutes working through your Māori to go book. Start where you left off last term. Find gaps and fill them.
Spend the final 15 minuteswriting about the conversation you had at the start of the lesson, and planning your conversation for the next lesson. Take a look at Takune and reflect on your past language learning in relation to the Deliberate acts of language learning model. Check out Tau Iwa and/or Tau Tekau to check the types of sentences you could include. You can write your reflection in your exercise book, or have a discussion in pairs, sharing your tips and tricks. Read 15 Mentiti Kōwhiri.
Homework: Spend 15 minutes working on Education Perfect, or exploring these links: Ngā pae tukutuku. Revise your conversation notes to prepare for your conversation in Te Reo at the start of your next lesson.
