John 8:12
Jesus is the Light
12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 9:5
Jesus is the Light
5 "While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
John 1:1-14
Jesus is the Light
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Luke 12:49-53
Not Peace But Division
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
God gives us freewill to make decisions and to believe in Him or not to believe in Him...LOVE is that Way...Given freewill from God, we are free to go about and make our daily decisions...
If Jesus is the One True Light and is the Light, then everything He touches is illuminated...Everything is seen and seen better with the Light...But Jesus disrupts...Jesus disrupts your life...He disrupted everyone that He met with His words and His deeds...He disrupts us today with His Parables and teachings...I would bet that Jesus got into the thoughts of those listening to Him back then and disrupted and interrupted their thoughts and their current thinking...He literally makes one stop and think...And this still happens today as one reads the gospels...Jesus is always grabbing your attention, always challenging, always telling us the Truth, and the Way to live our Life...
Everyone who met Jesus personally surely recognized that He was truly different from the average new acquaintance you would meet...And this continues today, because He is One who can go beyond the rational and do all things...A Man who has been with God from the beginning and came from above to dwell among us...So He is above reason and the rational...The Disciples got to know Him and saw His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, who is full of grace and truth...
Jesus disrupts beyond reason by uniting with the Holy Spirit and stirring the soul to fire -to bring fire on earth...Jesus disrupts us to move toward the Truth, His Truth -if we listen quietly with our free will...
