Genesis 1:14-15
God and the Seasons
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so.
Genesis 8:22
God and the Seasons
22 "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Hosea 6:3
God and the Changing Seasons
3 Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
John 1:1-14
God is the Word, and the Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Psalm 102:27
God is Unchanging
27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end.
As sure as we get a new season, the things around us start to change...The plants and the weather give us signs of what season we are in as our seasons change...
God created the seasons and there are several verses in the Bible about our seasons...God said let the lights in the sky serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years...And that is what they do...The sun and its solstice helps mark the longest and shortest days of the year signifying summer and winter...And as long as the earth endures on their will be seasons and change...There is a time for everything and a season for everything under the sun and heavens...So as long as the earth lasts, we will have the four seasons...And during our four seasons things will change...
Solomon said their is a time for everything is these four changing seasons...Solomon goes on to tell us about the changing of the different things in the world...
The Prophet Hosea said let us acknowledge the LORD, for as sure and the sun rises and the winter and spring rains happens -He will appear...And He appeared when He became flesh and dwelt among us...And when He came He showed His glory -and He is full of LOVE, grace and truth...And our LORD, unlike the seasons is unchanging...
While winter marks the shortest and coldest days for most of us...And spring renews and revitalizes everything...Summer everything is green, and then fall comes...Fall starts the cooling of the temperatures and has the beautiful colors and leaves falling...And then back to winter...These changes are inevitable...
As sure as the seasons change, and give us something different and changing -our Father is unchanging...So as we look back on the world and see all the changes since the beginning of time, our LORD is permanent and unchanging...Our LORD and Savior remains as Pure Love, Pure Truth, Pure Grace, and Pure Light...
