John 1:1-14
All Things Were Made Through Jesus
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 3:10-15
Jesus Came from Heaven and Speaks of Heavenly Things
10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
Matthew 13:10-17
Jesus Taught in Parables
10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
Luke 18:31-34
31 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. 32 He will be delivered over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him and spit on him; 33 they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
34 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
Jesus taught in parables...He was hard to understand...His Disciples sometimes could not get His message, and did not understand what He was talking about...And they were His students, His disciples, and they were with Him all the time...Many other people had a hard time understanding what He was saying...His Disciples ask Him once, why He spoke in parables...And He answers in a parable discourse...He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them...Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance...Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them...This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand...In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving...For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes...Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’...But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear...For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it...
Jesus taught this way so we would know that He was from some other place...He is from Another World...And the way Jesus went about His Teaching and His Teaching Style was done in such a way that we can't put our finger on it, but we know He is different...What He said and how He said things, are full of wisdom...And by His mighty words, we can believe that He very well might be from another place, and another time...So by the very way He taught and spoke, we get great hints that He is from Another World...His use of parables, proverbs, and scripture make us believe that He is, in fact, our Messiah...He is the Son of the Blessed One...He is the One that was to come...He is from Another World, by the very way He speaks...
By speaking the way He spoke, He was and remains a very Mysterious Man...After two thousand years of studying Him, many of His teachings today are still even hard to follow...In His Teachings and the way He taught, was a way to get people's attention, and our attention...He got Nicodemus' attention, and the Israeli teacher Nicodemus had a hard time following His teachings...So what was He doing and trying to get our attention turned to, or tuned to?...What was He wanting us to learn from Him?...The answer is He is about the Kingdom of Heaven...The answer is God...God Himself is unique, and in His Son's Uniqueness, we can feel, hear, and sense the Presence of His Father, Our LORD and Our God...We can feel He is the Son of Man...His speaking style leads us to God Himself...He has achieved this in this teachings and speaking style, what He wanted to achieve...For man to learn about the holy and sacred, it must be spoken differently from the way the normal man would say and present it...The way He spoke in parables help us really believe He comes from heaven and is the Son of God...
God created this world, and in this world (that God created) man can only see the things around him and in this world...And yet, we still do not know all about the earthly things, let alone about the heavenly things that Jesus talks about...We only see this world through our eyes...Jesus saw this world through God's eyes...Jesus can see this world differently because all things made through Him...He sees the universe through God's eyes...This is because all things that have ever been made, are made through Him...Man sees things such as nature and this world from the outside looking in, while Jesus sees them from the inside looking out...Man sees the earth with his eyes and has his own thoughts and ideas...While Jesus sees the earth and the universe and sees the Truth to all things...This is because He is full of grace, humility, and truth...
Jesus told His Disciples three times that He would die for mankind...He would be turned over to Gentiles and lifted up on a cross and die for mankind...And His disciples never understood this...We must ponder on this statement He says to Nicodemus two thousand years ago: "I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?...No one has ever gone into heaven except the One who came from heaven—the Son of Man...Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him."...
