Tim Thomson Jones

Born in Marylebone on May 6, 1956, Tim was the son of Harry Thomson Jones and became champion amateur three times: 1985-86, 86-87 & 87-88.

His first winner was Dismasted at Doncaster on May 29, 1976.

Tim rode a total of 231 winners before becoming a trainer in 1997.

His brother Chris (born in 1954) was also an amateur jockey.

He also won the 1979 Imperial Cup on Flying Diplomat and the 1985 Liverpool Foxhunters on City Boy.
