Harry Taylor

(1873 - 1955)

The eldest of three brothers, Harry Taylor was born in Manchester on January 8, 1873. He was originally apprenticed to Tom Jennings but went on to make his name riding over jumps.

He won the 1896 Stanley Chase for five-year-olds at Liverpool on Red Cross. He also finished third in the 1901 National on Buffalo Bill.

Later, he turned to training.

He died at Manchester on November 1, 1955. He left £660.
