✞The Lake Odessa Wave, Friday, March 17, 1899- We are pained to chronicle another sad taking away of a prominent and highly respected young woman of our town this week. Mrs. Charles Dysinger (Estella “Stella” Hamilton), to whom was born a daughter last Tuesday morning was stricken with scarcely a moments warning Tuesday forenoon at about 11:30 o'clock. Mrs. Dysinger was recovering nicely from her recent confinement, and just before her death expressed a wish, to Mrs. Lucy Longley who was caring for her, that she would like to sit up as she felt able. Mrs. Longley complied with her wish and began making preparations for her doing so, but she had not finished her work ere Mrs. Dysinger threw up her left hand and said "Oh, Lucy, I can't get my breath." Mrs. Longley stepped to her but in a moment the life had gone from one who but a few minutes before was feeling in the best of spirits and was laughing and joking as was her nature.
A physician was hastily summoned; but life was gone. Mr. Dysinger was away from home at the time, as he had been called to the northern part of the state on business. Dispatches were immediately sent to find him but they did not succeed in locating him until late that night, then he hastened for home arriving here Wednesday p.m. The blow is a terrible one to him as well as to all the relatives and friends, as Mrs. Dysinger was a loving wife and a true friend, and her sudden death was a shock to all. The funeral will be held Saturday from the Congregational church. Rev. Skentlebury officiating, and the remains will be interred in Lakeside Cemetery. OBITUARY (courtesy of Bonnie Hoy)
