Johannes (John) and his sons John Jr. and Jacob's houses are still standing. Daniel's house was presumably demolished. ➖ Except for Jacob's son James Disinger, who moved to Syracuse, most of John's descendants stayed around Seneca County. ➖ Instead of rural farms, some lived in Geneva and Seneca Falls, like John's great-grandson, Dr. Willard Hoster, a dentist in Seneca Falls. ➖ First cousins Lyman L Disinger and Peter Disinger attended many Disinger Reunions in Niagara County until 1933 when Peter died. ➖ While several secondary school teachers are in this branch, John's great-great-grandson, Earl C. Seigfried, was the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Ohio University, where the Fine Arts building was named in his honor. ➖ There are several WWII veterans, as in most branches. Additionally, John's great-grandson-in-law, Fredrick W. Haisman, was a Spanish-American War veteran, and his great-great-grandson, George M Hoster, was a Lieutenant Colonel in WWI and WWII.

2279 Tom Allen Rd, Fayette/Seneca Falls, NY, Built 1882
This is presumably part of the estate where John and Elizabeth (Ernsberger) Disinger lived with their children next to Sucker Brook. In the 1850 US Census for Fayette, John and Elizabeth lived with their youngest son, Samuel, daughter-in-law Caroline (Bookman), and granddaughter Velaria. The 1852 Seneca County map has this property labeled John Disinger, and Zillow has the house built in 1882. John's son, Samuel, likely inherited this property since it's labeled with his name, S. Dissinger, on the 1875 Seneca County map.
*** Seneca Co. Courier Seneca Falls, NY, January 12, 1882 - The residence of Sam Dysinger, in Fayette, about four miles south of this place, was destroyed by fire last evening. The fire took in an outhouse by some means of which we are not advised, and communicated to the house, which was totally destroyed. The greater portion of the furniture and other contents of the house were removed. Our information is to the effect that there was no insurance on the building.

Portrait and biographical record of Seneca and Schuyler Counties, New York 1895, p. 380 - [excerpt, see full bio of Daniel below]
"John and Elizabeth Disinger were born in Pennsylvania, and the father came to Seneca County in 1804, when about twenty-three years of age, and before his marriage. Locating on a farm in the town of Fayette, he held the same for about a year, and then sold it and invested his means in another piece of property, which he retained in his possession for five years. At the expiration of that time he traded it for the estate on which our subject is now residing. At that time it was all covered with timber, with the exception of four or five acres which had been cleared by the Indians, and about forty acres on the banks of the lake, which, it is presumed, had been settled upon by whites.
The mother of our subject came to this county when in her twenty-first year, and soon afterward was married to John Disinger. They started out in life in limited circumstances, but success attended their every effort, and at the time of his death the father of our subject left a tract of five hundred acres, which was divided among his children, of whom there were six in number. Of this family all grew to mature years and became heads of families, but only two are now living, Samuel and our subject. The father lived to be eighty-seven years of age, and his good wife passed her seventy-ninth birthday. They were members of the German Reformed Church, in which the former was Elder for a long term of years. In politics he voted for Democratic candidates.
John Disinger was drafted into the War of 1812, but considered it his duty to remain at home and hired a substitute."

✞Oct. 11, 1940, The Review of Interlaken, New York - May Hold Inquest Into Man's Death - It is possible that Coroner John G. Gordon, of Ovid, may hold an inquest into the death of Jesse Marion Smith, of Geneva, whose body was found Thursday, October 3, on Butcher Hill. Mentioned only briefly last week as news of the discovery of the man's body reached us as we were going to press, subsequent investigation reveals that Sheriff Herbert P. Yells was called to the scene following a phone call from D. F. Bartholomew, Lodi farmer, who found the car containing the body when he went to Butcher Hill to care for sheep. It is said that Mr. Bartholomew first noticed the car the previous evening, but believed at the time that it was a retreat for a possible picnicking party. When he again saw it the following day, he telephoned the sheriff. Close investigation revealed that the man was in the rear seat slumped over with a revolver grasped in his hand. Dr. John G. Gordon, Ovid, Coroner, was notified. When he arrived they broke the rear window of the two door car and with a stick opened the lock. The man's hat and rubbers had been removed, his car license lay on the seat and two curtains, one at the back and one at the side, were pulled down. Authorities estimated he had been dead at least two days. Sheriff Yells, after learning the identity of the man, got into communication with Geneva police, who notified relatives. It was learned he had not been reported missing until 10:30 Wednesday. The body, after being officially viewed by the coroner, was released to the Jones Undertaking Parlors, and later removed to Geneva by Fred W. Yells and Son, of that city.

3916 State Route 89, Fayette/Seneca Falls, NY, built 1890
This may have been the property where John C. Disinger lived with his wife Caroline (Yost) and children. The 1852 Seneca County map has this property labeled John Disinger. Zillow has this property listed as built in the year 1890. The house looks quite old and was possibly built by his sons who likely inherited the farm after their father John's death in 1882. There's an adjoining barn that also looks very old. The road on the 1852 map just north of this farm is no longer there.
In 1858 John Disinger sold over 100 acres of land to his brother Jacob near Seybolt Rd in Fayette less than a mile from their Grandfather Nicolaus' former farm for $730 (about $28,000 today).

Bull Farm Rd, Fayette/Seneca Falls, NY
Daniel Disinger's property was on Bull Farm Rd. and Lake Rd/Rte 89. There's no house standing there now and the road is currently semi-private. The 1852 Seneca County map shows the property near the lake labeled Dan Disinger.
Daniel Disinger's original farm was likely inherited by his son Peter and grandson Franklin. Franklin's obit mentions he was born in Canoga, and his wife Agnes' obit (see below) mentions she lived on Route 89, Canoga, one of the roads that bordered Daniel's farm. Other facts point to it also. Several newspaper pieces about Franklin's farm mention Lake Rd. which Route 89 was named on an older map. And, Franklin had a big multiple barn fire in 1917 on his farm, reported visible from Canoga village a mile to the north, which matches the location of Daniel's farm. Also, Franklin had a cottage on Cayuga Lake near Sunrise Cove on his farm where he held several parties. While nearly a mile south of Bull Farm Rd. the farm was likely that big.
Franklin, upon his death, bequeathed each of his five children parcels of his farm that one or more of them may have continued to live/farm on. Franklin's son Calvin, would have been born and raised on the farm before moving to Attica, NY, where he had a son named Robert who recently died. (see below)

Portrait and biographical record of Seneca and Schuyler Counties, New York 1895, p. 380 -
DANIEL DISINGER is the owner of one hundred and fourteen acres of productive farming land, located on the west bank of Cayuga Lake. It lies in the town of Fayette and was the old homestead of his parents, John and Elizbeth (Ernsberger) Disinger. On this place our subject was born October 9, 1823.
John and Elizabeth Disinger were born in Pennsylvania, and the father came to Seneca County in 1804, when about twenty-three years of age, and before his marriage.
The subject of this sketch spent the first eighteen years of his life on the old homestead, and when his parents moved to a tract south of Waterloo [the farm on Tom Allen Rd] he accompanied them to their new home. He had been given a fair education, and when ready to establish a home of his own was married, October 17, 1844, to Miss Catherine Eshenour, who was born in the town of Fayette, near Seneca Lake, in 1824. Mr. Disinger moved to his present place, which is part of the old home farm, soon after his marriage, and here his wife died, February 28, 1850. They had one son, William, who was born May 26, 1846, and who is now a well-to-do farmer in this town. July 3, 1851, Mr. Disinger married Miss Christiana Schroyer, of the town of Fayette, who was born here January 27, 1829. To them have been granted three children, namely: Peter E., John E. and Sidney F., and all are well educated.
In politics our subject upholds Democratic principles, and voted for James K. Polk when casting his first Presidential ballot. At one time Mr. Disinger possessed one of the largest and finest estates in the county. It comprised four hundred and fifty-one acres, one hundred and fourteen of which formed part of the old homestead. For this he paid his father $1,350. As soon as his children were grown up and ready to start out in life, he gave each of them a portion of his property, so that now he has but a moderate acreage himself. This he keeps under excellent tillage and reaps good returns for the care bestowed upon it. He is a member of the Lutheran Church, of which he has been a warm supporter for many years. Mrs. Disinger is an active member of the Reformed Church.
Grandfather Nicholas Disinger came to Seneca County about six years after his son John came, purchasing twenty acres of land, and here passed the remainder of his days. He lived to be eighty four years of age, while his good wife reached the age of eighty-eight. He served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War, as did also two of his brothers, William and John. They never returned, however, and the natural supposition is that they were killed in battle, but there is no certainty on this point. John Disinger was drafted into the War of 1812, but considered it his duty to remain at home and hired a substitute.

Mistake
*** THE GENEVA TIMES THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1956 - Robert Disinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Birney Disinger celebrated his 11th birthday Oct. 9 at a meeting of the Cub Scouts at the club house. A decorated birthday cake and ice cream were served by his mother. Robert received a number of gifts.
note- This was likely some mistake. Birney and Flora Disinger by all accounts did not have any children. Their obits do not mention children (see below), there are no other newspaper pieces about their children, there are no children in the census, and in 1956 Birney was 67 and Flora was 65 meaning they would have been in their 50s when their supposed son Robert was born. Even though they were a generation apart Birney and Robert's father Calvin had to be familiar with each other because they lived near each other in Seneca County. And, Birney's father and Calvin's grandfather were brothers. So somehow wires got crossed between the cousins when Robert was 11.

Portrait and biographical record of Seneca and Schuyler Counties, New York 1895, p. 335 -
JOHN E. DISINGER. Among the enterprising agriculturists who are making a success of their calling, we feel in duty bound to make mention of our subject, who is one of the most intelligent of his class in Seneca County. He comes of a prominent family in this section, one which has aided greatly in the settlement and development of the town of Fayette.
Mr. Disinger was born in the above town on the 2d of March, 1856. He is now living two miles south of Canoga, on a finely cultivated estate, to which he gives his entire time and attention. His parents were Daniel and Christiana (Schroyer) Disinger, and for a full history of this worthy couple we refer the reader to another page in this volume.
Our subject grew to manhood on the old homestead in this town, and received a good education, as did also his brothers and sisters. He did what he could to assist in the cultivation of the home place, and by so doing not only served his father, but gained a thorough knowledge of the vocation which he determined to follow. He was married, March 3, 1880, to Miss Celia E. Huff, whose birth occurred in the town of Fayette October 20, 1859. Her parents, Janies I,, and Clarissa M. (Nease) Huff, were well known residents of this neighborhood, and Miss Celia and John E. were schoolmates. Their union has been blessed by the birth of a son, Berney J., who was born July 17, 1889, on the place where they now live. Mrs. Disinger has one brother, George N , who is a farmer by occupation, and bv his marriage with Hannah Peters has one child, Pearl.
When our subject was twenty years of age, his father paid him wages at the rate of $100 per year, he receiving this amount until his marriage. After that event young Disinger worked the homestead on shares, his father agreeing to this arrangement for fourteen years. His parents then decided to let him have one hundred acres of land, for which he was to pay a certain sum of money. Industry and enterprise are numbered among his chief characteristics, and by his upright dealing and good business ability he has won prosperity.
