Shaman builds rely on the breaking of shields (The SH stat) to freeze the opponent and briefly boost self DMG.
With the release of more characters that have DMG-immunity or stun in their abilities, the strength of periodic shields increase as the player is hardly ever touched by enemy attacks.
Disadvantages:
Requires micro-management for best effects, but still dodging an attack could mean the shield not breaking at the right time, causing misplays
Shields can only (normally) take an instance of DMG depending on the difficulty of the content. Curse spammers can still hurt
True DMG bypasses shields
Due to the 4 uses limitation of the class, it is not recommended to be used in isolation in stampedes.
Grants shield and freezing on demand
Freezes enemy after own shield breaks
Boosts own ATK/MD after own shield breaks
Deals MD by default
Weapon:
Syfing (Legendary) (If you don't already have a shield equipped)
Else, use any Drain/DPS weapon
Shield: Shield of Chivalry (Legendary, not recommended if you are running Merman armor set already) / Any other shield you have
Merman (Legendary, not recommended if you are running shield of chivalry already)
Deepsea Guardian (Mythical)
Runekeeper's Seal (Mythical) : Periodic shield to mitigate hits
Splintered Storm (Mythical) : MaxHP boost and heal after shieldbreak (limited)
Sylvan Echo (Legendary) : ATK/MD boost after shieldbreak (limited)
Azure Aegis (Legendary) : ATK/MD boost depending on shield owned

In general, anyone with shield(s) , or periodic DMG-immunity
