Critical builds rely on critical rate (🎯) and critical damage (💥) to increase damage output.
It is split into 2 distinct playstyles - Sniper/Any DPS class and Reaper. The first offers a generic DMG amplification, while the latter features bleeding, dealing additional DMG based off the enemy's HP.
You may also consider Demonic for alternative effects (e.g. Burst stat boost, consistent lifesteal), which may outperform standard critical classes.
In raids, despite the superiority of Demonic, you may still consider HP-DoT (crit bleed), which deals consistent damage.
Disadvantages:
Not as apparent when base damage is low (e,g, In stampedes)
More effective for physical builds
Requires specific builds to raise two stats to reach the ideal effect
Demonic offers burst healing and DMG stat boosts. Check Demonic build.
Rogue offers consistent healing depending on DMG dealt
Both don't specifically correlate with critical as much but provide alternative generic effects that make them as usable if not more
Built-in crit rate increase to score crits more easily
Guaranteed crit class ability to benefit even if you have low crit rate
You may also use any DPS class to utilize critical items
Enemy HP% DMG after scoring critical hits (Less significant)
High ATK & critical rate at base
Class active bleeding deals the majority of the DMG
Extremely squishy (low HP and low defenses)
Would need external sources of survivability to let the DoT bleed proc fully (e.g. Dodge, Counter, Shield, Freeze)
Its advanced class (Deathblade) can achieve a similar effect already
After its nerf, the bleed effect from class active is greatly reduced, making this class less favourable, especially in comparison to Demonic

Starlit Whirl (Legendary) : Steal CR against high-CR enemies
Starweaver's Glimmer (Unique) : Permanent CR boost after block
Crimson Talon (Unique) : CD boost after counter
Yuletide Band (Unique) : CD boost on ATK periodically
The departed & The parted one combo (CR & CD boost in conjunction with ✨)
Niche:
Golden Bough (Unique) : CD boost after reviving
Only if you have nothing else:
Radiant Ember (Unique) : Basic CD boost. Refinements needed
Unique: Paltry Monsoon (Axe) , Hellreaver (Lance) , Nightshade (Dagger)
Legendary: Ildathach (Lance) > Caribre's Curse (Axe) / Death's Sting (Dagger)
Mythical: Serket's Sting (Dagger)
Shield: Tyranny (if you don't have 100% CR) / Overture (Unique, only if you don't already use a crit bleed weapon from the above, as the DoT doesn't stack)

Armor: Pure HP pieces
SS: Gepard
EX: 2B & 9S EX, SJW EX
Support character: Zeref, Vladilena Milize
In general, anyone with great base DPS potential with a lack of critical buffs

Mythical: Dreadknight (Normal attack 100%🎯, 💥Sword)

Unique: Boundless Blaze (💥Staff) / Crying Crystal (💖💥)
Legendary: Runed Spire (🎯💥) / Lightning Projectile (💥Staff)
Mythical: Fireweaver (💖🎯💥 Staff)
Shield:
Legendary: Barricade of Eternal Justice > Wall of Pain (💥 Mythical)
Inferior alternative: King's Aegis (🎯💥Legendary)
Unique: The order (DMG)
Legendary / Mythical : Glorious Nightfall/Hellfire Blaze > Abyssal Leviathan >= Scarlet Siege (If you have more than 150%** 💥), else Shadow Strider (💥) > Wildlands survival (🎯)

In general, anyone with great base DPS potential with a lack of critical buffs

Legendary: Azure Blade / Grand Staff of Cataclysm > Polar Star (Requires a critical hit, unreliable) / Usurper (Insignificant)
Mythical: Mystic Moon / Crescent Skies / Sirene's Song (best) / Dreadknight (100% CRIT)
Genesis: Astral Cutlass
Shield: The Castlemaiden / Shield of Chivalry (unnecessary if running merman armor set) / Tyranny (If you already have a mana weapon)
The items listed here are mainly effective for their passives. You may neglect their levels and still clear with the help of the guaranteed bleed applied from class abilities
Rotation: DEFEND & Use Class Ability when you can (40💧). For Dreadknight, spam attack and use mana for any survivability related effect
The reason of not focusing on critical hits is as the bleed applied is less effective compared to that from the class ability
Weapon: Any DPS weapon
Shield: Wall of Pain > Any other DPS shield. Note that tyranny's execution doesn't proc on DoT DMG (Bleed), so it may be tricky to use.
Unique: Reef's Bane (MANA REGEN) / Violet Veiled (BLOCK)
Legendary: Merman (PERIODIC SHIELD, unnecessary if running shield of chivalry)
Mythical : Tidal (MANA REGEN) / Deepsea Guardian (SHIELD)
Genesis: Scorching of Ira (EXECUTION /🎯)
Any DPS armor. Glorious Nightfall / Hellfire Blaze > Scarlet Siege > Shadow Strider
SS: Tetsuya Kuroko, Gepard
EX: Artemis EX, SJW EX
In general, anyone with gimmicks of not receiving enemy attacks in order to survive and allow the DoT bleed to come through
When utilizing ROGUE class & Dreadknight's Demise & Tyranny & Any non-ability DMG focused character
You should NOT level Tyranny
Rogue's class ability steals enemies' stats based off 20% of your own critical DMG
Because of the layers of critical DMG buffs, you may lower the enemy's critical DMG to below 100%
In this case, if they score a critical hit, you receive less DMG compared to a non-crit hit
Hence, you would want the enemy to have as high of a critical rate as possible
By having less critical rate, your class ability will steal less from the enemy
Alas, you will have a higher chance of receiving a critical hit, and take less DMG overall
