With an easy to use ability, Nao features 2 counters every 6 turns when mana is managed right. When pairing with other counter builds, the uptime of her counters can skyrocket.
As players need time to stock up on mana, her passive dodge boost for the early turns provides more comfort.
Ultimately, she can survive with ease while dealing decent DMG in combat.

High up-time Counter build:
Build: Counter - Slayer Build
Will be vulnerable at times because of the ability cooldown, but for the rest of the times attacks should be countered, curses will still come through. This is already the best mana buffing weapon at hand to keep up with the safe rotation.
In general, prioritize using Nao Tomori's Ability first, then when you have sufficient mana (60), use class ability. This way, guaranteed counters can be sustained.
Highly Versatile (Can use all universal builds)
If you are below Floor 121, please use the Early Game Build, focusing on physical (ATK) classes, weapons and armor.
Else:
Nao Tomori is compatible with any playstyle. (e.g. Drain (except Asura DPS) // Block // Critical // Dodge)
Nao Tomori is compatible with all Rolling Cow Builds, with her counter build still feasible in this gamemode as counter attempts are not spent when she successfully blocks, allowing you to stack up on immunity.
Hybrid Block-Counter build: Use her ability whenever it is off cooldown, then class ability whenever you can in between. You may use block rate related weapons to maximize blocking
General build: Use her ability whenever it is off cooldown, unless the rotations of such builds are highly restrictive
