A short story inspired by The Sleeping Beauty in The Woods by Charles Perrault
Synopsis: A girl begs a witch to put her under eternal sleep, instead the witch puts her to sleep until her true love kisses her.
"Please put an end to my suffering. I can't stand myself or anyone else. I am a waste of space." Olivia begged the Joyful Witch.
"Oh, my dear, don't speak of yourself in such a dreadful way! For you're so young and have a whole life ahead of yourself." the Joyful Witch said. It was quite difficult for the girl to look at the Witch as her dress was made entirely of stars and her braids were sprinkled with stardust and her cocoa skin was oiled with something that made it so shiny, it was impossible to look at.
Olivia looked down in disappointment, everyone told her it would get better, but she was sure it wouldn't. The Joyful Witch couldn't bear see disheartened young girls, so she decided that she would put the girl under a sleeping curse that she would only be awakened from by her soulmate. This way, the girl would sleep peacefully until her love will find her and when she will wake up she'll have someone to live for.
Oh, yes! This is a genius plan! 'Oh, Lizzy! You've done it once again! You're much smarter than Einstein, what a quaint request he had!' the Witch told herself.
"My darling girl, if you truly wish to do so... then, I will help put an end to your suffering." the Witch hugged Olivia.
The girl looked up at her saviour, her green eyes filled with tears and golden curls messed up.
"Oh, please do end this excruciating pain!"
So the Witch fetched up her sleeping potion and made the girl lay down and drink it.
Olivia fell to sleep in an instant and Lizzy took a lock of the girl's hair. She made a potion to find the girl's soulmate. Some boy named Joshua. And so the Witch set out to find this boy.
She told him all about what's happened and when the boy called her a lunatic and didn't cooperate, well let's say an obedience spell does wonders.
"Come with me, dear boy!"
"Of course, madam."
"Oh, what an obedient boy! I don't think I'll take the spell off, Liv might find it enchanting! Now... kiss the girl!"
"Of course, madam."
Their lips touched and the world stopped spinning for Joshua. The spell wore off and he quickly stopped, the girl gasped for air and looked around confused.
"You said you'd put an end to my suffering!" she yelled, hurt.
"Yes, yes, my dear, and I have. Meet Joshua, your soulmate!"
"Soulmate?" the pair said simultaneously in disbelief.
"Oh, yes, yes. I'll leave you two to get to know each other, but it honestly doesn't matter if you like each other or not... you've kissed so now if you do love someone else... they'll die..."
