Breathe in, breathe deep,
take it all in.
Breathe in, breathe deep,
don't mind your mind.
Breathe in, breathe out,
the mind is the one that gets sick so easily.
So foolish is she!
Breathe in, breathe deep,
your cages, your flames, your fears, your screams,
they're all make-believe.
Breathe in, breathe deep,
don't mind your mind.
Breathe in, breathe deep,
you'll be alright.
Breathe in, breathe deep,
take it all in.
Breathe in, breathe deep,
close your eyes and when you open them again,
you'll see the world for what it is.
A landscape that poets tried for centuries to encapsulate
in gorgeous words, and twisted metaphors,
a place that God Himself has made,
for us to enjoy,
for us to love,
for us to choose kindness,
for us to put our trust in Him,
Breathe in, breathe deep,
open your eyes,
breathe out.
Breathe in, breathe deep, it will be alright!! You are so loved, even if you don't see it.
I struggle so hard to be so 'perfect' in my relationship with God, that sometimes I forget how to trust Him. Sometimes, I put so much pressure on myself to be a perfect* Christian that I can't focus on my prayer, that I feel far away. And times like these are the times when I need to remember to "breathe in, breathe deep". I'm sure I'm not the only person who goes through this so if this helps someone, please let me know🤍
*although nobody except God is perfect.
