Egypt

Ancient Egypt was located in Africa along the Nile River.  It was divided into two regions; Upper Egypt & Lower Egypt. 

The people developed a system of writing called hieroglyphics.  

The pharaoh was the supreme ruler of all in Egypt.  He or she was also seen as a god or goddess.  The people in Egypt believed in more than one god; they practiced polytheism.  

Egyptians are famously known for making mummies to preserve dead bodies.
