The Go’dagen (‘Good Day’) sculpture

The ‘Town Square lady’ is back at the Town Square!

The sculptor Tone Thiis Schjetne designed this popular bronze sculpture, otherwise known as the ‘Town Square lady’. The sculpture exists in two copies: one in Stavanger, and the other in Trondheim. The one in Trondheim has stood at the Town Square since 1983.

While we were remodelling the Town Square, we temporarily moved the Go’dagen sculpture to Sverresborg Trøndelag Folk Museum.

The model for the Go’dagen sculpture was Anna Kornelia Holm, a woman from Skjervøy in Troms, who came to Trondheim as a young girl to work as a maid.
