Portrait Transformation

Artist Statement: For this assignment we were instructed to take 5 photos and one had to be a self portrait. For the project we had a choice to use either our self portrait or another portrait we took of someone else and I chose the one of me. The reason I chose the picture of me was because it was black and white and fit more with the background of clouds better than all the other ones. The reason I chose clouds as a background was to basically represent dreams and a way to connect to myself.

One thing I liked about doing this assignment was learning how to use new tools but also this time I found a way to get two pictures to connect to each other and look good. When we did other assignments I would have two completely different pictures like these two and have to put them together and even though it wouldn't come out terrible they didn't fit together like these two do.

If I could go back and do this assignment again one thing I would do differently would to find a better picture of the background and something that helps explain me more. Like I could've done the track outside or a dance studio or something more related to my character but other than that I like how it came out.
