For this photo we were told to take a photo that relates to "home" during this pandemic of covid. At first I was just going to take a photo of my house but I thought that would be too boring so then I tried to take a photo of all my siblings because I thought of "home is where the heart is" but of course that didn't work out because they all wouldn't sit still or even get in the photo so lastly I thought about taking a photo of the american flag on my porch because the US is where I was born and this is where I'm dealing with this pandemic going on and I will grow up here. I think it's very important to keep the flag in our minds and in sight during these times with the pandemic and now recently the riots going on. It will always be important to me.
For editing this photo I didn't do much. The way I took it came out pretty good. I took it while the wind was blowing on it and got a great picture. I was going to try and make the road in the background grass and have it be like my yard but when I edited it you could tell that it wasn't my yard because it was darker than the whole yard so I left it. After that I added a filter to it called "Paint Daubs" and just added more darkness around the edges and lines of the flag. I thought it would look more different but sadly it's hard to tell the difference in the photo. Other than that I just touched up a few spots and edges with the eraser and didn't change anything else.
I do wish that the photo with my siblings would've worked out because that would show home a lot. I think family has a good way of showing home but, I also think the american flag worked well. I probably would have found different ways to edit it but there wasn't really any other way to have it stand out. I think capturing the photo came out very good but there wasn't. a lot to change about the photo.
