For this assignment we were instructed to take a photo with complementary colors. At first I wasn't sure how to go forward so I looked up some complementary colors to see if it would help me with an idea. After doing that I asked a different friend of mine if I could take a picture of her. At first, I was going to just have her stand in front of a white wall and then edit the wall and her shirt to be complementary to each other but then we walked into the band room and I saw a wall with tons of posters that were all complementary except one.
With that being said, after I took the photo I went into photoshop and I edited two of the posters to be a complementary color with using the select and eyedrop tool. If you look closely you can see that each row of posters is complementary to one another (red to green and violet to yellow). After I did that I had to change the background to a complementary color too and by doing that I selected everything I needed and then made a new layer and used the eyedrop tool to find a good color and then the paintbrush tool to get it to cover the whole background. I wasn't sure if I had to edit her clothes so I just left them as they were.
If I could do it all over again I would probably come up with a new idea if I could. I really like how my edits came out especially for being new with photoshop and being rushed but, If her clothes had to be changed I would want to go back and also do that. This assignment helped me a lot with getting used to photoshop because I had no help and had to figure it out on my own. It also ties in with my inquiry question and concentration so I'm proud of that.
