Artist Statement: For this assignment we were instructed to take photos that represented each of the definitions we learned. For example, we had to take a picture that represented selective focus which would be taking a picture where the object is vert clear and stands out and then the background is blurry. We had to do that for all 18 and then edit them. For editing all I really did was increase the contrast and saturation except highkey and lowkey lightning where I had to play with the filters and brilliance/exposure more so it would look more like they're supposed to.
One thing I liked about this was that I was already familiar with taking pictures like this. I didn't exactly know what all the definitions meant but once I did and got the hang of it I knew how to take the pictures and have them match the definition. Another thing was I was at Florida during the week it was assigned so I was open to a lot of great pictures to take to help show an example of the definition.
