Lovers of peanut butter and chocolate will want to try Aunt Maxine's Nutball recipe. Not a cookie, not really a candy. But so good!
NUTBALLS
1 c vanilla wafers crushed
1 lb confectioners sugar
1 c peanut butter
1 c walnuts, chopped
1/2 lb margarine or butter
CHOCOLATE COATING
12 oz semisweet chocolate bits
1/2 bar paraffin wax
Mix the vanilla wafers, confectioners sugar, peanut butter and walnuts. If you use chunky peanut butter, use a little less walnuts.
Melt the butter and add to above mixture.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts and refrigerate a couple of hours or overnight.
In the top of a double boiler, melt the chocolate bits with the wax. Stir until smooth.
Use a toothpick to dip the balls into the chocolate coating.
Set on wax paper to cool.
Keep in a cool location.
