I'm not really sure what the difference is between a crisp and a crunch. My Mom had recipes for both... this is the crunch.
INGREDIENTS
8 large apples
Juice of 1 lemon
1 1/4 c sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
4 Tbsp flour
3 Tbsp butter
Pare and slice the apples into a greased Pyrex baking dish. Sprinkle with the lemon juice and a little water.
Preheat the oven to 350o.
Mix the sugar, cinnamon, flour, and butter; then spoon over the apples.
Bake for 2 hours or until bubbly and brown.
In this case, I'd say that baking for 2 hours might be what makes it a "crunch!"
