プレジデント・オブ・SVP 佐藤博昭によるオフィシャルスピーチ全文（訳文付き）

Ambassador Dató Mohd Yusof Ahmad, Director General of National Art Gallery, Malaysia,

Mr. Kamil Othman, Vice President of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC),

Distinguished guests, members of the press, Ladies and gentlemen,

good evening,

Thank you very much for inviting us seven video artists to the National Art Gallery.

MJVAX started in 2002 from a small encounter with a film maker Naguib Razak.

We were hoping to exchange someday with each other’s works and artists.

And in September 2009, we were able to invite five Malaysian artists to Japan, and introduced some of Malaysian video work to Japanese people in Tokyo and Fukuoka.

And for this time, they worked hard for us to be invited.

Now, we are very proud to be such a magnificent place, and be able to introduce our works and some of the other Japanese works.

I believe that these works will help you our Malaysian friends to understand some aspects of Japanese art and culture.

I believe our friendship will be continuous and become much stronger.

Lastly, I’d like to thank everybody who gave their efforts for this exhibition to be realized. Especially I want to thank National Art Gallery for offering this place for use, and MDEC. Japan Foundation for sponsoring, and I wanna thank all our friends in Malaysia.

マルチメディア・ディベロップメント・コーポレーション（MDEC）の副社長、ミスター・カミル・オスマン様、気品あるゲストの皆さま、ご参集頂いたプレス関係の皆さま、紳士・淑女の皆さま、

こんばんは。

われわれ7名のビデオ芸術家たちを、ここナショナル・アート・ギャラリーにお招き頂きましたことに、深く感謝の意を表明いたします。

MJVAXは2002年、映画作家のナジブ・ラザクとの小さな出会いが、その萌芽であったと言えましょう。ナジブとわれわれ日本の作家たちは、いつの日にか、お互いの国の作品や作家たちが、交流できることを強く希望しておりました。

そして、2009年の9月、われわれは5名の芸術家たちをマレーシアから日本に招き、マレーシアの映像芸術の幾つかを、東京と福岡の人々に紹介することが出来ました。

そして今回は、来日したマレーシアの芸術家たちが、われわれをマレーシアに招くことに尽力してくれました。

今、われわれ日本の作家たちは、このような立派な場所で、われわれの作品や他の日本の作品を紹介できることを誇りに感じております。

私は、確信しています。

これらの作品は、親愛なるマレーシア友人たちが、日本の芸術や文化の一端を理解する為の一助となることを。

私は信じて疑いません。

われわれ日本の作家とマレーシアの友人たちとの友情は、より強固になり、末永く継続していくことを。

最後に、今回のMJVAXの実現のためにご尽力を頂いた、全ての皆さまに感謝いたします。

特に会場提供を申し出て下さったナショナル・アート・ギャラリーの皆さま、そして様々な助成でご協力頂いた、MDECと国際交流基金マレーシアの皆さま、そして、マレーシアの友人たちに感謝いたします。
