'Karaoke' is sound system on which we can sing popular songs into a microphone, over pre-recorded background music tracks. The concept of creating studio recordings that lack the lead vocal has been around for nearly as long as recording itself. Many artists, amateur and professional, perform in situations where a full band/orchestra is either logistically or financially impractical, so they use a 'karaoke' recording. Hence, Karaoke system is very useful to the recording studios, and also to amateur singers who love singing but cannot afford to have a band/musicians to accompany them.Purpose of making a karaoke system at home is that we do not have to buy branded karaoke systems which are sometimes very costly. There are so many brands which include Magic sing, LG etc. who have very good systems but they are expensive. Their system typically has a microphone which has to be connected to TV and also to sound system to let the songs play on the speakers along with display of song lyrics on the TV. The singer can see the lyrics on the monitor/display and sing the song while the interface on the lyrics use to instruct him to sing a song like an original singer. The microphone has a microchip inside with a number of pre-recorded karaoke tracks and output cord for connecting it to output device like a TV.
With some effort, you can simply make a mind blowing karaoke sound system at your home without spending much money on it. Here is how to do it:
Step 1
Go to www.youtube.com and download the karaoke tracks of the song you like. For example, if you want a karaoke track of the song ‘Mere Sapanoki Rani’, then try searching in youtube as ‘Mere Sapanoki Rani karaoke track with lyrics’ or ‘Mere Sapanoki Rani karaoke with lyrics’. Before downloading, play the song and check the quality of the track and their lyrics. If you approve it, then download it and save on your computer. Likewise you can download other karaoke tracks you wish for and keep on your computer.
Step 2
Now you are required to install software which converts video files to DVD. Even new versions of Nero burning software can do it. If you do not have Nero, you can download the software named ConvertXtoDVD, which is popular for converting nearly all video formats to DVD. After installation, you can customize your song collection from downloaded tracks and burn it to DVD.
Step 3
Now, you can find a DVD player which has a built-in microphone input socket. If you don’t have such a DVD player, a television with microphone-in socket will also serve the purpose. If you do not have both, you can just take line-out from your TV and connect it to line-in of your home music system. Many home music systems have microphone input socket. You can simply connect a microphone (Philips or Ahuja are the best at good price) in the said microphone input socket.
Step 4
Finally, you can just start playing your DVD for karaoke songs which you have burned, and start singing into the microphone. You can adjust sound level of karaoke track so that the vocal output matches with the music output. Some microphones also have knobs for volume and echo which can be used for adjusting vocal result.
I hope you will definitely try this and start singing on your own. After all, it is always better to sing with karaoke music track, than to sing in bathroom!
If you do not want the pain to make it at home, you can buy it from 'Persang Karaoke' which is a reputed brand in karaoke systems. You can visit their website here. All the best for your singing experience!
